Correct Corofin, Rock and the 'Tage have a great chance in the cup this year. Lots of premier sides gone out of the cup and Corofin have shown in past few years it can be won by a 1st division side and personally I hope it is.
As for the premier league - I wouldnt be writing off Newtown just yet "boss" They have 3 games in hand and have still to play all of the top 3. 3 wins in the next week and they would be just one pt behind your champs in waiting Lifford. Every team drops points in the run in when the teams in front start getting nervous.

TBH i wouldn't have much confidence in Newtown winning the league going on yesterdays game. They were terrible as were Rovers. Wind and pitch apart both teams were **** poor and before anyone says anything it just my opinion. No heart or balls from Newtown at all. If you WANT to win a league you have to have desire to do so. Very poor effort yesterday.
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

Typical rubbish everybody going on about Newmarket and Avenue. Dont suppose you noticed Liffords great win away in Bridge Celtic yesterday. We are still the only club left who can win the double. When we go back top of the league on wednesday night and into the cup semis on Sunday then you will have to give us the credit we deserve.
ye will only get the credit if ye win league / cup or do the double
lot of tough games still to be played

If we had won yesterday then we had an outside chance of getting back in it but it would take a huge implosion from the top 3 to let us back in now. Very dissapointing result yesterday but Rineanna deserved the win. Wind and pitch made the game a lottery but Rineanna played the conditions better. Our lads have a lot to learn it takes a lot more than just ability and nice touches to win a league title. We are out of the running now but we will have a big say in who does win the league.

Tough luck pappa J - I think if Rineanna had scored the penalty it would have been a different story - alot of youth and inexperience on that newtown team , seems to be the same every year for the last few anyway

Ya agree totally papa.Newtown are a good side and have the ability to beat any of the top three.they have a lot of games left and will upset someones camp. Still think ye are missing something to challenge for the title.Newtown to finish fourth i think with rineanna on their tail.

People are talking about newmarket and avenue as they are on top of the table as are Lifford. No one has forgotten about ye. As for winning the double it wont take much for ye to bottle it id say. Enjoy being top of the table after wednesday because after we play ye it will be a 2 horse race between us and Newmarket. That is of course they dont start fighting with each other and bottle it also.

I was at the Rinneana match and both teams were crap but the homeside have more balls and are better able to play on a bumpy field with a swirling
    wind.A realy bad game.

were not all blessed to be able to play in top league in limerick.wasn't long ago you were playing wit us ...so you shouldn't really come on here saying teams were p**s poor...
I gave an opinion, and stick by it. Has nothing to do with who i play with.
If any player says that it was a good or even a decent performance then there a liar. I'll even say that game i played in with Pike same day was **** poor, at least i can admit it. I was speaking to a few peaple at the game and they said the very same as me. What do you want me to say??? "Newtown were unlucky"?? because they weren't they were bad, thats not to say that they won't be good next week. So to go back to the original comment about not writing them off for the league, i stand by it, you can't win a league with a team that performs every second week. Like it or not, thats the way it is.

Way out of line with your comments, this website is for people to give there opinions on matches, for you to bring up newtown youths and pike rovers is just bitter, newtown players who played sunday have came up to me themselves and said they were crap on the day regarding the pitch conditions, you should just think before you post, maybe its not the loss against rineanna or shels and smellyfeets post thats made you upset more than likely its that newtown have bottled it for another season with a top side.

A bit of pride or real effort from some players, not all because there are some that try there best.

OK, i'll tell lies so and change my view on things. The game the other day was full of passion and skill, both teams are a credit to their Clubs. Even the peno was great

Keeper did well in fairness, I agree, Fahy would usually put them away

Anyway, it has been said on here alot over the past few seasons by many posters that Newtown always bottle it in the league, at the start it would kill me to read it from the likes of the Avenue and Lifford lads but they are starting to be proven right. If you are to challange for Leagues 13 points from your first 8 games is not good enough.

maybee he has a point !! i have seen a lot of crap clare league matches this year also & also a lot of good games ... not having a dig at anybody here but bridge utd won league and got relegated next season / bridge celtic won it last year and are in danger of being relegated also so maybee the standards in clare are slipping abit plus most of smellyfeets games he watches usually involve newtown probally sums up there season and thats why they wont win the league again this year.
