Care to elaborate... What division are we on about at least???

I would presume the rule still stands as it was not changed at the AGM. We mistakenly broke the rule last year and lost points so I expect the same punishment applies to everyone.

is it a standard 1 match ban ... or do you have to wait untill club receive notification from clare league

This is not a clare league rule it is a FIFA directive. If the player played in the next match his team should loose the points.

Well what should happen is the league should spot the fact that it was a"next game" and award the points to the opposition in that match. If they continue to play the player while he still has not served the match suspension then the same should happen until he does. However i would not be dependant on the league to implement its own rules without an appeal from a club.

So there is no such thing as a right to appeal. A player is suspended without this basic right. Sometimes a player might be on the wrong end of mistaken identity and miss a game even though he is totally innocent. I agree a player needs to serve a suspension if he is sent off but he surely has the right to appeal. In the current set-up he does not have this right.

    Moher 1-0 Bunratty

Good win for Moher against an underperforming Bunratty. Game very close all the way thru . Bunratty hit the post with a penalty about 5 mins after Moher took the lead. . Some players away for the weekend were missed by Bunratty but well done to Moher for battling hard and earning the 3 points. Jonathan Clohessy in midfield was outstanding for Moher.

Your adding bits to the scenario!!!!!If there is no appeal then he has to be suspended automatically for the next match. The next question is can you appeal before serving the "automatic" suspension??As I have no precedence I dont know,,,but I would imagine so .This needs to be clarified but as you point out it would seem corrrect to always have the right to appeal and therefore it would appear that if you appeal you dont have to comply with next match suspension until a decision is made. What was the case in the instance that was earlier refered to???

Player is currently serving his suspension. Not that it would make any difference to the overall standings in the group Bridge would lose points from the shield game and there is no precedent of a team being deducted points for up and coming league season.
He shouldn't have played but new management were unaware of the ruling as player received two yellows and club delegate was not in the country to clarify the situation.
No excuse, but I think it revisits the concerns raised at the AGM when club delegates requested a rule book for the season.
I got the impression that there are rules but they are written on scraps of paper somewhere and are not very clear.

Not sure what I'm adding to the senario... I'm just making the point a player should be given the right to appeal and at the moment its unclear how he has this.
As regards the situation last year the manager was unclear of the new rules. He thought we had to revieve notification from the lg before the player misses a game.

Your original question didnt mention an appeal.Just the question was the player automatically suspended for the next match.

A)If he is sent off then he immediately get his club to write to the league appealing his sending off.Once that is done then "its under appeal" and can then play until the appeal is decided.

B)How any manager could make that mistake after the league made it absolutely clear at the first meeting is hard to fathom.Unless he was not present at that meeting and the club representative did not tell him.If that was the case then that can only be considered incompetence on the part of the club structure.

Not sure why you keep referring back to the incident last season. We were wrong in playing the player for whatever reason and got punished for it by a points deduction. I was never trying to say any different.

What I am saying is it is unclear (to me anyway) the situation regarding player suspensions/appeals. You seem to know a lot more about it than any of the rest of us..
1.If a club does send a letter off straight away does it have to be presented before the lg meets on a Monday night.
    2. Who should the letter be sent to? Does the lg have an appeal's committee.
    3. Does the lg send back approval that the player is ok to play the following game or is it just assumed he is clear to play when the letter of appeal is sent.
    4. Our B team play tonight and Wednesday. If a player is sent off tonight and an appeal is posted 1st thing tomorrow does that clear him to play Wednesday.
    5. Whats to stop clubs appealing every sending off just to get a player to play in the next game. If the appeal is lost is there an extra punishment?

I'm not trying to say the new set up is wrong but I just feel there are a lot of holes in it that are unclear especially with regard to appealing a suspension. Maybe your response will enlighten me

    Shels,

Have a look at the FAI rule book on www.claresoccer.net, scroll down to Rule 50 Part 3 (a) (ii) and (e) and this should clarify everything for you. It seems, from what I've read and forgive me if I'm wrong, that you feel a player sent off is entitled to play the next game as long as the appeal is in ASAP and deemed "under appeal". This is definitely not the case and I feel maybe you should notify other club committee members of this or maybe your rep at the CSL meeting never clarified this to you and other club officials. If the suspension is more than 1 game, then a player and club are entitled to appeal. This could prove to be a very incompetent and costly mistake on behalf of your club structure!!

    Thumbs up Newmarket V Avenue

jst wanted to say these two teams served up a great game yesterday. good attacking football played, plenty of commitment and excitement, while also played in a very sporting fashion. looked as if newmarket were gaining the upper hand early in the second half after they equalised but a couple of substitutions seemed to disrupt them. avenue look to be building a very good young side again and will take some catching. fair play to all involved yesterday
