Whoooooooosh <----- that's the comment flying over your head there.
I think divisional cups should be played off in the first 2 weeks at the start of the season,
It would give all managers a chance to look at new signings and also to try a few different ideas (ie; formation's, different players in different postions).
So for example (as is the case every August) all clubs would have HUGE squads to start the season with, the 1st round could be played on a Tuesday evening (as the bright evenings are still available), the 4 quarter finals on the Sunday, the 2 semis on the following Tuesday, and the final on the Sunday (all within 2 weeks, and before the end of August, or you could keep the final for later in the season).........Then come the start of September, the league commences....
This would suit clubs (as the divisional cup is out of the way), managers (as the get a chance to see new players (rather than chancing new players in important league games), and players (as it would build up their fitness for the start of the league campaign).........Just a thought, what do ye think????

cant see how this game will be played again, wembley were down to ten and if its played again they start on a level playing field.if it was balla or boro or any of the top teams involved i couldnt see pike playing it again so the only outcome i can see is pike being awarded the 3 points.yes it is a sad way to finisht the season but pike have done nothing wrong so i do,nt see why they should accept a replay
Pike will be awarded the points for Wembley's inability to follow the rules of the game. Simple as. I'm not particularly wanting to go over this again,as its been talked of too much as is..Personally I'd want to play and win the match to get the title, but I just can't see it happening to be honest.
Green_Hoop, you're on a different planet if you think Pike will be awarded the points. The match will be replayed, no doubt about it. Remember this date - Thursday June 26th.....I'm giving you a chance to book Friday the 27th off if you think ye'll win it on the night. Now do be grateful and say thank you.
The precedent was set at the Abbey and Hill Celtic game 3 seasons ago, when the match was abandoned in the 83rd minute after a infraction on the pitch involving players and staff. Hill Celtic got the points in that incident(correct me if I'm wrong). Current Chairman John Walsh for Pike was manager of Abbey that season. It bares various similarities to the Pike-Wembley clash. So from what I judge, Pike have all the advantages going into the meeting Tuesday night.
Once upon a time Sir, until I broke both my Tibula and Fibula in the same tackle. This was back when the only recoup was 7 months in Croom hospital. Eddie O'Donovan amongst plenty others were present when I broke my leg. Lets just say it was back when Charlie Elliot played for Pike,if you can recall that or even knew that, then your as old as myself..

and that result relegated abbey as well
i see your point the only thing is,balla are the only team that is punished by this happening, nobody knows how the match would have finished and basically wembley get off scot free for there actions,to me thats wrong, why not replay the match,i'm guessing pike will win anyways and dock points from wembley from the start of next season, therefore they will be rightly punished for there actions and it will send out a message that the treatment of the ref was out of order
Whats the story with objections then? Hows that work? Once the objection is received is it heard at the next ldmc meeting or? At this rate we could be dragging into July for the complete finish of the season.
can Balla actually object?i thought only Wembley or Pike could(depending on the outcome)
