thats a good question
It was St. Francis we played in the FAI that year. We held them in Dublin but were well beaten up in the Pike field. Those were the days when one team went out of town in the FAI and it was years until we did again.
We played out in Shannon on the old Park Rangers pitch two weeks later and Greg Moloney and Joe Bariscale togged out. They obliged us by rolling over 3-0
Im trying to think of the team that day and where they are now
Joe Barriscale - Keeper - Went back to Vereker Clements and played out his days there.
Mike Ryan (Jaws) Left Full - went on to manage teams around town, including Pike and still quite popular in the game

. Lost his father in the crash, he died a few months later
Pa Mul Left full/Mid Field - Went on to become the most successful manager at Pike in the modern era, lost a nephew in the crash
Tommy Shan Centre Half - was a died in the wool Pike man at the time, never put anything back into the game when he hung up his boots
Dom Considine Sweeper - very elegant footballer. Currently managing Wembley.
Ger Dillon Right Full - managed Pike B for a few years, Havent seen him in years at a match. Father was president for a while. Brothers on committee at the moment
Pat Cunningham Midfielder - The most gifted player I've every played with or against but like a lot of these guys wanted the ball at his feet and got frustrated with the 'skills' of his team mates. Around the club a bit these days. Was never the same player afterwards
Declan Woods Midfielder - the flying winger. Keep your feet closed though and if he couldnt nut meg you he was goosed. Finished up playing before his time for family reasons
Joe Roche Midfielder - Head case enforcer. Havent seen him in years.
Jim Tier Midfielder - Moved to England shortly afterward. I heard a few years later he was jailed for GBH over there.
Greg Moloney - Centre forward, very pacy front man. Work commitments (chef) saw him finish up early as well. A great man to look after you when he was working out in Finnegans.
Tony Morris - Greatest goalscorer I can remember at Pike. Scored goals at all levels and won a LOI medal with Limerick a few years before. Managed Pike with Cla for a spell. Son Dave currently playing up front.
Fran Mullally - Manager, Was in intensive care for a long time after the crash. Tragically lost a young son. Died a few years ago and the current league title is named in his honour. Managed Pike a few different times afterwards
Eddie O Donovan - Was helping Fran around that time but cant remember if he was for that season. Still lives and breaths Pike. Grandson currently playing
Tommy Burke - 'Physio' Died almost a decade ago. grandson Paul still playing junior football around town.
Sorry for boring people with that - hard to believe it was 21 years ago. It was a great time to be involved with Pike. We had some laugh those times training out in UL on Tuesdays and Thursday with that cnuting sand pit. Something died that day that we never managed to get back as a squad and it took the club a long time to recover
Joe Hanley - Secetary, John(?) Ryan - Mike Ryans father and Paul Mullaly - Fran Mullalys 5 year old son died.
