Agrees the conditions were atrocious for both teams, but in football as you know once the pitch and elements are deemed safe the game goes ahead. on the day pike probably played the better football (of what was played) from a neutrals point of view. but the game I saw Balla just completely bullied Pike out of it even when they went down to 9 men Balla just seemed to have more grit and wanted to win more.Pikes "big players" didn't want to know about it. IMO thats what real football is about at junior level " commitment and the want to win which I think alot of Pike players didn't have.Asi say IMO..

Bateman Park is an ABSOLUTE disgrace. Is there anyone involved with
Balla who can even begin to defend it? IMO they use it because they know
they are not as good as the other teams technically.
Surely this is a common consensus??
When have they used it ?? 2 league games this season. won 1 lost 1. And havent lost since playing on a big LIT pitch and away so to be fair to them the days of blaming bateman is long gone. give the team credit when its due.
i dont think anyone will try defend bateman but to use your line is there anyone who can say they desereved to beat Balla this year home or away.As was quoted earlier they more than capably beat regional , wembley and annacotty.

Balla dont get any fai money / grants as you say cause you can only avail of them if you own the ground or have a long term lease which they have neither of. Pitch in LIT is owned by the college and bateman is only rented so your statement there is absolute s***te.
The marker for Pike and Balla was last seasons MJC final,a day for big match players, perfect conditions(great pitch, great weather),not one team could complain about anything. Then Balla went down like a lead Balloon 3-0 completely out played in every aspect.

Most would agree that the Balla Pike game for this years MJC shouldn't have been played, nearly every other match about town was called off and the game won by a freak goal taken in by a gale force wind...

And tell me so...Are Balla getting LIT on Free rent??....Don't make me laugh m8,its been widely known that the LDMC/FAI are paying there way out there.

Oh and I'd put money on Balla V. Fairview/Pike to be played in Bateman Park if possible every season..The odd occurance of Bateman becoming playable when Pike/Fairview are coming to visit seems to be a regular thing..

And as Gerry the Ferry says in a round about way Junior soccer is all about on the day, most part time games are...Who's more up for it,who gets that piece of luck, its all on the day.

Balla have to pay as far as I know €100 for every game played in LIT. This money is raised by the club or taken on the gate. I got it confirmed they get absolutely no assistance from LDMC/FAI so your info is incorrect

Green Hoop to say the marker between Pike and Balla was the MJC final you have a very short memory. What about three seasons ago when we had to win seven or eight games in hand and go up to the pike field and won the league in style,or when we beat yee 7 -1 in bateman .Ya i would say you have a very short memory alright.

Nuetral jo what are you waffling on about that the other teams are (technically) better than Balla were those teams trained by some one from europe. What ever your on its strong stuff.

    Fairview 1 - 1 Janesboro

Played for an hour on slush. Not sure how it went ahead. Fairview ground staff were having kittens and the pitch won't be right for months now. Fairview took the lead within a minute, keeper took down Christy Doyle after he rounded him and was about to finish. Ref awarded pen but bottled the red card decision when it was as clear as day. Boro equalised about 15 mins later. View played last 25 mins with 10 men as Kelliher was sent off. View looked more likely to score even with 10 men and will be disappointed with the draw. As will Boro having played so long against ten men. Not a great result for either team.

ya,surprised the game went ahead...boro keeper lucky, not too many clear cut chances and boro obviously looking for a clean sheet with 5 across the back.thought kelleher a disgrace...quite apart from his sending off his contribution to the view was very poor, and his fitness levels, like his performances look to be going downhill.

I don't agree with the Balla bashing that has been posted. The league does not lie and they are the inform team at present, however I cannot agree that Balla more than capably beat annacotty this year, this is quiet an inverse description of events of the day.

A disgrace that the game went ahead and did not aid either team, the ball when passed along the ground was getting held up in the slush, scandalous conditions for playing ball.Boro keeper should have been sent off, cant understand how he stayed on the field.
As regards Robbies he is training hard and any team in town would take him in a heartbeat, very hard also for anyone to make a decent contribution in the conditions.

    Balla 1-0 Killarney Celtic
Through to play Cork City in the Munster Senior Cup 1/4 final next Sunday. Venue is Turners Cross. ( I know it's the wrong thread but there isn't a Munster Senior one)

The reason tat Balla's first two home league games of the season were played in Bateman Park is because LIT is not available to the club until late September every year. Every home game that Balla have had since has been played at LIT except for two Cup games that were played in Corballys pitch because LIT was unavailable and the LDMC would not let us play in Jackman Park.

You should really get your facts straight before making a statement like that. Balla get absolutely no assistance whatsoever from the FAI or the LDMC. The pitch is paid for on a monthly basis as well as all training facilities that are used.

As for the LDMC helping Balla....what a joke. Twice the club have asked for use of Jackman Park when the LIT pitch was unavailable. The first time they tried to charge the club €300 for one game and the second time (yesterday) they said that the sod in the goal area was not good enough to play a game. But the finances of the LDMC is for another thread. Luckily Corbally Utd helped out by offering thier facilities on both occasions.
