summerville regional off how did ailsing get on at granville
I was at the Balla vs View game and for me also there was only going to be one outcome and that was View taking all the points.Balla were with out a couple of regulars but that was no excuse for the rest to be sluggish.I would say last weeks game took alot out of Balla, now the mid week games coming its going to be tough.lets hope Balla can use this as a get out of jail card and kick on.I was impressed with the View do
why did'nt they try ring another ref, there was a few ldmc officals out there including the chairman, for such an important fixture its a joke, there was plenty of matches off around the town that must of freed up a few refs!
Iv said it before and il say it again...
Balla are not even close to being the best team in Lmk.
As regards Trevor lads players get injured every week
and thats that. Premiership referees get injured also so why
is it a shock when a ref gets injured....? I never got injured
myself refin but what altrenative did trevor have?
Its a pity to all except Balla but Fairview will beat Balla again..
Dont blame the referee for getting injured..
it's more dissapointment than shock that trevor got injured, the result was'nt cut and dried either, yes the view were on top but balla never give up as they proved in the last few weeks, the teams lying just behind have a right to be dissapointed because they could've done with balla dropping points, whats going to happen now because with a half hour to play they cant award the points to view!
I think, that if the refs were asked, that if their own game is OFF, then they should make it to a fixture that is ON, to ensure there is sufficient cover incase the above happens.
After all, there was only ONE game that was completed out of 5 in the Prem yesterday, therefore freeing up a minimum of 3 refs (not including T Hoare), and this is even without counting the refs from the 2 games that were off in Div 1A.
So for example, the ref that was down to do the Granville game, could have travelled to the Boro, and the ref down to do the Summerville game, could have travelled to LIT, once they knew their own games were off (which would have 10am at the very latest), with both acting as Subtitute referees, and after all, dont the refs get "paid" if their own game is OFF??? So why not make them earn it, by standing on the sideline togged out, and being ready if needed.
Plus its not like the "Sub Refs" have to travel a long distance, as all Prem teams are city based anyway.
That would have completed yesterday's game in LIT,

Enda Quaid couldnt have stood in as he is a Fairview man and that would not have been fair on Balla.I have to say Balla's center halfs are very slow and are there for the taking all day long and wont be looking forward to facing Robbie Kelleher again.I still stand by what i said on here a few times and that is i think Fairview are going to be very very strong in the next few years.
i'd agree with that, fairview are starting to get a team around them again, they've come on in leaps and bounds since pike hit them for 5 back in september, their after adding a few good players to what was there already, they play nice football too, but the standard dometically is rising and fairview are 1 of 5 teams that set out to win the league its not a 2 horse race anymore and that makes it more interesting for the neutrals!pike for the league
Lads, with the forecast being very poor for the 1 st half of the week, would it not be prudent to cancel all fixtures for the comming week. at 6 pm yesterday both pitches in the boro were under water...1st time any of us in club had seen so much water on both fields, B-team actually played in the afternoon in the downpour, pitch is now out for weeks..have the powers that be any idea about checking forecasts in advance or are the more interested in FAVOURS......?
Even if the Boro beat Balla Thursday night, both Balla and Pike can still reach 58pts, with the Boro only able to amount to 48pts, there is no way both Balla AND Pike will drop 10pts from that point on and until the end of the season, (and even if they did, it would mean the Boro would have to win ALL their remaining games, just to have an outside chance), sorry, but it aint gonna happen.
And thats not even considering Fairview & Regional who can both reach 55pts, and Aisling who can reach 53pts.
Sorry bud, but I think the Boro will be lucky to finish in the top 4 this season.
My top six.
Balla
Pike
View
Regional
Boro (toss up between Boro & Aisling for 5th place, but I fancy the Boro as they have points on the board)
Aisling

I like your thinking but its not that easy. First the ref who turns up and starts the game will have to be paid. If he gets injured during the game, how much does he get? Half or all??
Then the ref that turns up if his match is off wants paying. Again how much? If he is not needed at all should he get half as you suggest above. If he refs for 5 or 10 mins only, then how much should he get. Who pays the extra ref for turning up.
Sorry for being pessimistic![]()
with regards this but I think there is no easy solution to this situation.
Anyway how many matches are abandoned due to refs get injured during a game? Probably less than 5 the whole season??
