hows 1a going this year who's doing what in the league?
Kilmallock to win it at a canter from what I've seen so far. Balla and Hill Celtic to challenge. Everybody else to slug it out for the two relegation spots.
it must be a very poor league if thats the case
Ger or Mike?
If it was Mike, it must have been bad as he is one of the most experenced refs in town. Will see him on Thursday and find out.
Ger is another experenced referee and I doubt it was trivial if it was him!
Then again Kiely in the paper does not mean Kiely on Sunday![]()
Its easy to shout abuse at the ref - how would you like it if he did it back?
Lads
Just a quick question.
If Balla "B" finish in the top two promotion places this year, what happens?
Are they allowed into the Prem (with Balla "A" there already) or does the 3rd placed team replace them going up?

Happened a few years back........They stay in 1A
Cant say that I do, I knew that ruling was there before but thought it had changed.
Why then do you have other clubs in the lower leagues playing with two teams in the same Division (I think Corbally B & C did it last year).
Doesn't make sense really for Balla "B", they must think to themselves, What's the point in playing league games if you cant win promotion?
And what would happen IF (I know its a big IF) Balla "A" got relegated to Div 1A and Balla "B" finished mid table in Div 1A the same season???

A scenario could be that Balla "A" play Balla "B" last day of the season and need 3 points to win the title,a bit of match fixing could take place so that Balla "A" take the points easy...
Note:Case scenario,not suggesting anything so don't flame...
Maybe they just want the league title
I'd imagine that its a case of simply a group of lads wanting to have a kick about on a Sunday morning and a few pints afterwards, basically an excuse for a day off as such..and this is reinforced even more since its a "b" team.
balla b wont win the league they have a good start every season and fade.i rememember afew years ago they had 28 players signed and won there first 4 games, they just avoided relegation the same season
This exact thing happened to Geraldines a good few years back. The B's won 1A and the A's got relegated from the prem. So the teams should have switched places. But the club left both teams in the divisions that they were always in. Felt the A team that got relegated would have a better chance then the B team.
Suppose its up to the club at the end of the day.
