Looking for a pitch to use (rent) for pre-season training (Northside) as own pitch is currently out of use until the beginning of the season. Any suggestions???
Pre season starts tonight for any interested parties.7:30 up in O'Neill Park an all are welcome.
Still to sort out a manager for the A side but it'will no doubt sort itself out shortly.

Why is no one posting anything on here![]()
Look "olly" we have a hole season of nit pickin an swipin remarks in front of us an I for one am tryin to refresh me batteries.
Just to say preseason is in full swing, some have stayed some have gone an some new faces have even come in but as junior football in Cork has been ,is an will always be very fickle, loyality is in short supply.Theres no such things as a club player anymore, not meaning to sound sour but just me being honest.I have the utmost respect for anyone who has played with the same club for more than 10 years an is still there, how many could say that the way football is at the minute in the Aul.
Every club will be in the same position, lose a few straglers pick up a few raw recuits an do the best we can,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tis only around the corners lads an thank God too because I'm bored silly...........![]()

Hi all, littleman I have to agree, it is a constant point that I always have to bite my tongue in relation too, club loyalty. I have only played for the one club, I have moved to over 20 miles from the home pitch but I still can only see myself playing for the one club (now the fact that I'm a fairly average player that'd mean I haven't exactly been head hunted might have a bit to do with it!!!), however it is fairly standard for players to change clubs throughout the divisions and leagues. Just look at the number of transfer rumors threads in this site alone. I accept that sometimes the best option for an individual player is to move teams, but to compare with GAA, there is bordering on uproar if a player leaves a club without moving house to about 100 miles away or something like that.
I'd like to think that with our current underage structure flourishing and the new pitches coming online (by the way we're currently fencing the pitches they look great) that this would develop more "club" players so fingers crossed for the future.

Dont get me wrong an its not like we wouldnt like a few more new faces but I cant see there being many changes to the squad,3 or 4 new players in an 3 or 4 out.Why fix what aint broken an all that.
Best news for me was that Lofty is back in full trainin an cant wait to get back playin. He missed the whole of last season with an injury suffered against Marys in that poxy preseason match that was abandoned.
Darren Galvin is also back with us an seeing as he was one of the best players we had the first time we won the Prem he is another fantastic signing. There maybe another 2 or 3 but thats it I'd say.
Tizz,Bog,Rebel any news![]()

hello old friends
things have started up at the seaside this tuesday with a nice gentle run, peter jones is shouting instructions from the line this year with the departure of last years coaching staff. a few new faces and plenty of old ones but a young and hungry squad by the looks of things, we'll be biting at the bit for a game inna few more weeks, we'll have 2 pitches on the go this year, the old pitch is looking nice n lush with all the rain, the new pitch will take a couple of weeks for the final adjustments to take hold and we'll be away for slates
the bottom corner is very close to charles fort and we're not allowed to put up fencing so we may have to put our balls on a length of string to keep em from rolling down the (fcukin big) hill
i'll try to get ye a picture of the scenery
i passed by o'neill park the other day on the way for chips and there's no sign of any movement on yer dressing rooms lads, hopefully for all concerned ye havent had any setbacks, we gave our shed a bit of a face lift so it'll be nice and comfortable for those wet days in jan/feb/march/apr .......
who came up with wilton this year ? should make for another decent league campaign, we have to turn things around this year in the league, last year was our worst for years and that all came about in the last 6 games, jonesy will be tougher and meaner when it comes to getting the most from the players in my opinion, great to have him back !
so a panel of in and around 20 seems to be the going rate, we also have a 2nd team entered with a big number of casual footballers so fingers crossed for some success at the seaside, on the loyalty thing, i think theres nothing wrong with pushing your ability and joining a better team and trying to improve all aspects of your game, there'll always be some players but its the core that will bring the whole thing together, cans for grattan is a prime example, wears his heart on his sleeve and is an out n out grattan player, we're lucky enough to have a few also so if we can bring in some fresh meat then it shakes everyone up to improve
i've been out of the gossip earshot so havent a clue how everyone else is getting on, as you said littleman, there'll be plenty happening once the football starts up, anyone fancy a mossie and a trip to the cross before christmas ?? ya gotta fancy a night up in town to collect a medal ..
have you come out of the closet yet chico ?? where will you be resident in shouting at the refs for the coming season ? besta luck with whatever emerging northside talent you can uncover and tame
tizz out for now
Sorry Tizz but there seems to be somtin of a johna everytime I mention us an the Cross,3 semis in the last 2 seasons an lost the lot,all at home so I shut me mouth an wait an see,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
On the dressing rooms all I can say is that we are devestated that we are still waiting for a start on it.Everything is in place, finance, planning ect .Totally out of our hands. But what I will say is that if a certain minister in Dublin by any chance looks at this site can he please ask his secretary to take their preverbial finger out an make the call an leave us have our bleedin dressin rooms,,,,,,,,,,,sorry for the rant lads but me an the rest of the die hards up in O'Neill Park have all put a hell of a lot into getting this far only for someone in Dublin who dosent know even who we are or how much we have riding on getting these dressing rooms, to hold things up.![]()

The Aul at its Agm had a vote for the implementation of 2 transfer windows,November an January. This was passed on the nite by those in attendence.Going forward it ment basically a player once signed for a club can only transfer out or into a club during these transfer windows .
I was told last night that the Fai junior council have passed a ruling that will effect this.It will be posted on Billys blog shortly so keep an eye out as it is going to really stir things up.

I'm no longer a delegate so didn't go to the AUL agm. This rule could be both a good and bad thing preventing fellas leaving after a few games if they are not in the starting 11 . I'm assuming you can still sign a player who is unregistered outside these windows. And sure as is always the way in the lower leagues of the AUL why do you need to sign at all!!!Actually met another club one day in our league when i was with Hibs as we were both on our way to our respective games . Asked them about a player i worked with and they said he was no longer with them. To my surprise he was credited with 2 goals in the paper the following wednesday

The season is due to start the 3rd week of August, usual midweek games for 2 to 3 weeks depending on the light. The new fixture secretary is Tony Chambers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my heart sank when I heard that.Richie Brown was top notch last season an when he was away Mr Chambers was in charge, could'nt be less alike in terms of ability.
Its official now that the Fai have ruled that a player can only register with 2 clubs in any one season. This ruling is to be passed down to the individual leagues to be implemented going forward this season.
Also they are bringing back the 5 yellow card rule.5 yellows equals one game suspension or fine.![]()

In Tony Chmabers defence he is not a young man anymore. The fixtures really need to be done on a computer and it wouldn't be fair to expect him to be able to do as good a job as Richie. Was actually considering getting involved with the AUL committee myself this season if i didn't go to another club. Reffing was the other option. I was one of the few dopes who actually did the REFEREE course when the AUL suggested. Will the 5 yellow cards rule apply the whole way down the leagues?? This could cause widespread panic . Are the managers now supposed to know how many cards a fella has. Don't we have enough to be doing
I can see many situations where people will play players who might have had 5 cards spread out over a season without realising they are actually suspended
who ya after taking over olachico?? ya going to enlighten us??
