    5 year plan.

Look their are clubs no doubt that are goin to feel hard done being shackled to the Aul for 5 years .I can understand that. But there are junior teams in this country that have better grounds, teams an set ups that any Senior side. Why because they worked at it.The hard way.Clubs leavin the AUL for the MSL are only makin the AUL worse,an it would only have been a matter of time before the Msl started to suffer if this agreement was'nt put in place. Nothing gets fixed by walkin away from it.As it is the Msl bar Rockmount/Doughlas an Avondale are just full of average sides who have good set ups.As opposed to us who bar the odd few have an abundance of poor sides with poor to ****e set ups.

With regards to the merging of certain clubs, lets be grown up about this. The Aul are asking clubs to do this in a bid to try to wipe out the one hit wonders that the Aul is full of.3 or 4 seasons an then gone,ye all know the kind of clubs I'm on about. Our league is in a sorry state with only a handful of clubs that are trying to improve on an off the pitch.Slightly ironic is the fact that all the people who use this website are from clubs that are either in the process of getting or have good set ups.

At the end of the day it plain an simple if the current Aul clubs want to improve our league then here an now is your chance. This talk of will the AUL answer our questions an help us is too little to late.I put it to those clubs that ye were quite happy to play along in the Aul and just enjoy the ride an not bein to bothered about improving because the Aul never lay down the laws hard enough ,well those days seem to have just come to a sudden an abrupt halt. Its seems like the AUL has a bit of a bite left in it an we all thought they were a soft touch. They want to basically cull the number of sides we have but cannot be seen to be doing this.So they develope a 5 year plan to seperate the wheat from the chaff so to speak an we only have our selves to blame.Simple in its idea but ruthless none the less.

At this moment we as a club are startin to enjoy a certain amount of success an the Msl vulture was seen circlin above O'Neill no doubt the way the rumor mill works. But who we foolin theirs nothin to say the wheels dont come off this season or next.Thats why we as a club are pullin out all the stops to get our dressing rooms in place before the end of the season. Why you may ask, well the last 3 seasons have been fantastic an I would like to keep it that way or at least do our best too.For that we need the facilitys that players appriciate havin. The ones they see senior teams havin. If Aul sides have them and are doin well in the Fai an Mjc then the temptation to head towards the big bright lights of the Msl could be replaced by the bright lights of our own Aul.

    Corinthians Cup Third Round
    Rathcoole Rovers v Douglas Hall,..........dunno

    Premier League
Coachford v Villa ...........studs in shins, teeth in boots, home win with plenty for the ref to doo (not a bother to monseigneur tully though, he loves these kinda games and is one of the better refs we have in the league)
Park v Kanturk,....... i think kanturk will start to crumble with the away games now, big win for the home side
Glenthornv Grattan........more studs flying here, watch out the fair footballers ! should be a good run around, grattan to pull away after the hour for a comfortable win
Castleview v Leeside.......2 sides that promise a lot and sometimes let themselves down, i'm going for an away win again cause leeside need it more

    Premier A League
Greenmount v Wilton....... wilton for me
Macroom v Knockavilla.......away win, for the tough knocka boys
Village v Ballyvolane .........away again, i hate the pitch in village and dont envy bally having to travel there
    Leeds v Dunbar .........away win
Springfield v Blarney St.......sorry bella, away win, big points in the pools this week in the prem a with all the away wins !

    AUL 1
Lee Rangers v Innishvilla.........villa by a country mile

Just had to put you in this week Innish

i had put in a big rant about the aul then stopped and deleted it, no point in judging things now, if they are trying to improve their house then i commend them and look forward to the support they give to all the teams in the aul to improve the standard of roots football around the city and county, ultimately we all want a better standard of football and facilities so if they can make that happen with a few sacrifices then i applaud them, easier said than done but we'll be doing our bit to help where we can !

big games in the prem (& aoh) in the next 2 weeks, all the "big" teams avoided each other in the aoh 1/4 finals so could be some juicy semis, i wouldnt gamble on any of the underdogs in the 1/4's considering they all got away draws, what are the chances of another leeside v kinsale semi in little island ?? x-files revisited

not a weekend to be dropping points in the league either lads esp since silly summer sokker is on the way, get out the magic water cause we'll all be needing it when the evening games kick off
beats the schitt out of training anyway
besta luck all round for the w/e, match reports to follow for the injins

Back to winning ways for us after last weeks poor performance. 5-2 against Greenmount although must say i thought the days of getting changed in cars were long gone. Hopefully this 5 year plan will put an end to that carry on.

Littleman what happened up in Glenthorn?

Good win for Kinsale in the Aoh. Details Le tizz?

well done rise, good result on the road, nice to knock in a few goals too.
its a bit easier to come on here after the weekend when your team wins, stings a bit when things dont go as planned, still loads to go so nothing decided yet

we had a decent win and are all delighted to be in the next round but there's nothing won yet, both teams were very evenly matched and it went down to the wire, i thought we shaded the 1st half and went in at the break 1-0 even after playing into a strong wind (very well taken richie cunningham goal), both teams had a few chances but i feel we deserved the lead at the break

bally scored from a free header from a corner about 15 mins into the 2nd half and that knocked us a bit, they certainly upped it in the 2nd half and prob pushed on a bit more than us who were relying on playing on the break a bit, derek mc was fantastic for us and prob made the difference, worked so hard and made chances throughout

1-1 at full time and extra time didnt show any real clear cut chances, pens was the only thing that could seperate us, both teams scored the 1st 4, then both missed their fifth, hurley saved well for kinsale with the 1st knockout pen and pat murphy cooly sent the keeper the wrong way to send us thru

disappointing way to go out for bally but i feel kinsale and bally will have another couple a bites at each other before the season is over, we play villa next week in fairfield in the league and it prob will be them coming to kinsale the week after in the 1/4 final of the aoh, 2 big games for us - must win again i suppose but we're taking it game by game now

the grattan loss gives encouragment to everyone and it looks like a 5 horse race at the mo (leeside, park, bally, kinsale, grattan) but 2 bad results could open the door for another team who can string a few good results together (glenthorn still not out of it and with results like that who knows what will happen)

was it a tough game grats lads ? with high scoring like that it sounds like there could have been a few penos or men sent off maybe, any report for us .......the wind played a strong part in our game at the seaside but still good football played by both teams which was enjoyable to watch (yep, i was watching again !!)

good result for leeside keeps them well in the hunt and park did enuf to keep them well in with a big shout as well, there's gonna be lots of points spilled yet

villa coachford stalemate doesnt give anything away- did you hear how it went littleman ??
well done to wilton & innish (any match report)
bella ye're gonna have to pull out 3 points soon or ye might give yerselves too much to do, time to stand up !

glenthorn v park next week could be a big 3 points and its certainly looking like it could be a fiercely contested league & cup this year, we're hoping we'll be still in the hunt at the end of may but lots to doo till then

    tizz out

Well seeing as I was at the game and played my 1st 90 minutes of the season... A good (vital) win for Innishvilla against an old foe Lee Rangers in a real relegation 6 pointer... Lee started well aided by strong wind but apart from a couple of free kicks swung in on the wind never created much. Once we found our feet we created the better chances and could have gone in 2 up at half time. 2nd half we dominated until scoring after 25 minutes, then as always seems to happen when you're in the bottom half we dropped a bit deeper instead of pushing on but apart from a couple of corners Lee never had any real clearcut chances...
Great win for the club, only got 1 point from 1st 6 league games; have now picked up 13 points from last 6 so form has turned around...
I think I got 10 from 13 results correct... Littleman and Gratts feiced me up twice... and Ballyvolane got a great result away to village... Do I get extra points for guessing Kinsale and Bally being level even after penalties as it went to sudden death???
Bella, Springers need a couple of wins badly, I forgot 3 go down from Premier A have to make sure you don't allow a gap to form as it'll be very tough to catch up...

you get out what you put in

Tizz, good win as I expected of ye.
    Bella,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    Innish good victory.
Towlie good away win against the view.
Rise if ye could only show a bit of stable form ye would be up in the Premier.
The Villa had a bruisin affair in Coachford. They also missed a peno in the second half.Tizz they are startin to put results together an Saturdays game may not be what your expectin.

I was wonderin how I would approach what happened Saturday with us.I would have no problem if it were true that we were played off the park.Or if the ref robbed us,the weather was ****e or the opposition were overly physciall and just wanted to kick us to death. But that wasnt the case.

I'd love to put my finger on what went wrong because at least then you could work on it.But this was just one of those games where everything we did went against us,and the harder we tried the worse we got.It was a freak result not because we lost a game but because the entire team not 1 or 2 had a bad game.

Glenthorn were as bad so that ment you had 22 players on the pitch who couldnt string 2 passes together. The ref said it was one of the worst games he's ever had to do in 15 years of bein a ref.For an Aul ref to say that beats it all. We've all had those games where nothin goes right an Sturday was ours.It will be gotten out of the system durin the week you can count on that an a few lessons will be learned.Loosin any game is hard to take but its the way we lost that is harder to take.

    villa or bust

dunno if you got the wrong impression but we're not expecting anything easy up in farifield on saturday and the aoh game at the seaside will prob be even more difficult for us.

you're bang on when you say they're putting good results and even better performances together, we never had it easy against either villa or maymount and i'd expect nothing less on saturday, attitude and aggression will count for an awful lot of results in the coming months and if a team is on form and a good run then nobody wants to play them. their last 4 games have wins against glenthorn, park and thumping ballintotis in the cup and a draw away to coachford at the w/e, those results are as good as you'll get in my book

we've been guilty of looking past teams already this year and it has cost us in 2 cups, hopefully we'll have learned from that and all focus is on getting a result in the game at hand, you know that yourself as well as anyone.

weather looks a tad iffy for the week so it'll be a battle before anything is won on saturday and i certainly wont be backin my house on an away win, we were delighted with the win on sat against a good bally side but as i said, there;s nothing won yet and we're actually a long way off getting near to win anything so we'll try to remain focused

the league is still wide open so its gonna be won by the team who will grind out results week in week out, we've had a decent start but its all about points on the board, i'll get back to you in 6 weeks for any predictions for where the silver is going, for now all eyes are on villa on saturday

this season we've had a few games like ye played on sat but we are improving so i'm hoping at least that we can keep things going ! still lots to do !

Friendly Required In Cork Vs English Team, Sat 29th March

I represent Old Fullerians AFC from the Watford Sunday Football League
in England (club website: www.webteams.co.uk/oldfullerians) We are
coming over to Cork on Friday 28th March for the weekend.

Presently we have a friendly against Marlboro Trust FC on Sunday 30th
March are looking for a friendly on the Saturday 29th March. We are a
friendly club and thus looking for a friendly but competitive match.

I know its quite short notice and know Cort City FC have a big local
derby away that evening, but wondering if anyone can assist or point me in the right direction to arranging a friendly even if it means playing
in the morning or early afternoon. Also I know you dont get your AUL Cork fixtures till about a week before, but we can wait till quite late to arrange a match.

    Cheers,

    Alesson learned

You may have mistaken my comment for somthing else Tizz. The Villa ye played already this season is quite different to the Villa ye will face Saturday thats all, not that ye would take anythin for granted. They have some of their ol'd heads back from St Vincents for a while ,a lad from Hillington who is an excellent player an a few from Temple Mount(what a ****t name, sounds like a sexual position in a church) .

You dont win games on reputation,it counts for nothing. We have made a name for ourselves over the last 3 seasons based on beating sides who had supposed big reputations an on the day we won through because we took nothing for granted an fought for everything. You win matchs because you want to be champions not because you are champions.Saturday we were guilty of takin Glenthorn an 3 points for granted an thats why we lost.

The management is very good at keeping the team focused on whats in front of them on a week to week basis rather than the long term goals. You just have to look at the results in the FA Cup over the weekend to see how things can go wrong if you go with the bookies favourites rather than beatin whats in front of you for the next 90 mins. But when a team gets used to winning week after week a blip can sometimes happen an it aint bad because it grounds them again.I hope thats our case.

Yes we are well behind basically everyone else playin catchup but I dont think any of ye are writin us off because of one bad result.I have said in earlier post's that my own opinion is that things will not be as clear cut as some might think with regards to who might win the league.A bit of competition never hurt anyone. This Saturdays game in the Aoh will say a lot about our team an its 'bouncebackability' as Big Sam used to say.I expect our players to go out an take full advantage of the opertuinity thats in front of them.A quater final in the Aoh on home soil.

fair dues littleman, still all to play for and the competition is upping everyone's game, we're expecting a fair ole bite from villa on sat but we'd expect nothing less, enjoy the paddy's parade !

    Aoh 5th rd Grattan 6 Ballyvolane 0

What a difference a week can make in your football fortunes.Looks like last weeks result was what it was a harsh lesson but a lesson well learned. We went ahead wth the game up in our own place reluctantly because Ballyvolane could not ko at 2:30 in Blarney's Fifa pitch.Their goalkeeper had to go back to work for 4pm ?????.

Our place was playable just.It actually suited us because the ball flew around on the wet surface an bein a bit shall we say lighter than some of our opponients we ran them a merry dance.3 nil at half time an another 3 in the second. It wrecks my head how we performed last week compared to this game. But overall it was a game we needed to win and we did it very well.Jp got 2,Figo an Harry 1 apeice an 2 og's.

Figo was excellent on the day an considering he missed last weeks game it was good to see him in such good form before the Mjc game next week.Pa Connors,Darren Geaney,Kevin Goldsmith an Brian Barry wer'nt available for selection this week between work an injury so I think that the result just shows how much strenght in depth we have an to get a result like we did after last weeks display says an awful lot about our spirit an selfbelife.

As to the semis, dont really care who we draw home or away.Would have prefered if they had a neutral semi some where like Blarney or Mayfields Fifa pitchs.Under lights an a superb surface would suit any of the perspective sides left in the competition and make it a little bit more special. Many moons ago I had the pleasure to play in the semis of the Aoh in the Cross an I must say I enjoyed it .But with all the different leagues wanting it for their own semis an finals it was only a matter of time before the had to cut down the number of games played on it.But you never know what they might do on the Aul commitee,we live in hope.

Ps,wasnt surprised to see so many games off with the weather either.
    Their's only one Dinny Pop's.
