This sounds ridiculous- What next? points deducted for tackling an opponent!
Its a contact sport- not volleyball! and a ref might have had a poor game and gave a few cards he should'nt have. Did anyone get sent off in either game? First ive ever heard of this nonsense. Whats your opinion TOB? even you must agree that this is harsh?

Yeah you're right. If this is the case it is a bit harsh. I hav'nt heard anything else and nobody has come up with an alternative reason for the points deduction. Irishyop, you said you we're going to look into it....any word??
You would think that Erris would have got a warning and maybe a fine first, and maybe they did. Those three points could mean the difference between the title and the play offs and I'm sure they would be sickened if they lost the title over indiscipline!
I know at Town in the past we had problems with several bookings in games but I can't recall us ever being threatened with losing points. It would be nice to hear what the powers that be have to say on the matter!

All i heard from one of the players was that they had 6 bookings in 2 consecutive matches.
They are appealing it and to be honest I think that is a joke of a decision

Well the season is heading towards a final day showdown for Celtic C and K&K. Winner takes all after Celtic C won in Hollister. Due to Ballyglass B not been able to field a team regardless of the K&K result against Hollister it will be a showdown on last day of season.

I expect that Div 2 A is not near finalised as the Clew Bay and Castlebar Town drew to put the promotion play offs and Super league domination to bed for Town for one more season Were you playing MT? Tubestation whats your slant on the match?

Clew Bay didnt play well at all and got 2 late goals to level the game. But the ref was a complete disgrace, it was like an non contact sport, every tackle by Clew Bay players resulted in a free for Castlebar whether Clew Bay won the ball or not. 2 of the Castlebar goals were also clearly offside. the ref wasnt the guy that was down to ref the game on the midweek papers and i think the replacement has connections with Castlebar Town which would explain his disgraceful performance

Its amazing you think that the last match even counts for anything, Ballina Town B have 5 points advantage at the top, yet we are not mentioned? Its been a interesting season, with K&K impressing me the most..

Why would I mention Ballina, you are not going to be caught at this stage, you have it won!

Why do you think the last match does not count for anything? I presume you have seen the table? You do understand that a playoff happens?

This has been going on all season. See this post in relation to C. Celtic. Usual stuff whenever a Cbar team is at home.

What exactly are we lookin for in that thread? Clew Bay were at home so your point is what?

Ask FahyForever about the sending off on Sunday and how that was a Castlebar Celtic home decision, not! Even the Fahy lads were at odds as to why our lad was sent off.

Sorry I meant when a Castlebar ref was officiating. I am sure its not a deliberate thing but it does happen that the Cbar refs protect their own teams. Also refs being on first name terms with players does not help the other teams feelings of injustice.

Sorry, yes I see your point alright, hard to know on that though, yes I would agree that in SOME 50/50 decisions they may give the odd one to their hometown but then remember there are 3 teams in Castlebar, some lean towards their own more than others.

Actually come to think of it there is 1 ref who we hate to see coming even though he is life long Celtic!!

The name thing though, I see your point, all I will say there is that the longer you play the more chance is that you will knwo the refs by name and vice versa, I think you are more likely to respect their decisions the more you know them so to speak.
Even though again there are a few who this definately does not apply to!!

surely refs shouldnt be in charge of games that there home town are in? other teams will always feel an injustice when this happens whether the ref is bias or not

Not always true. From past experience some Cbar refs seem to go out of their way to prove they're not being biased towards you!! A ref should be impartial no matter where he or the team is from. In general the one's that can ref properly are.
