McEniff critical of RTE fatal hotel fire documentary Aug 08, 9:27 am
A Bundoran town councillor has today said he was disappointed with last night's screening of an RTE documentary on the fire in the Central Hotel which claimed ten lives 27 years ago.
Clr Sean McEniff said he felt the documentary entitled "Disasters: Bundoran Central Hotel Fire" was very hard on the families involved and would be best consigned to history.
Earlier this week, Joan Kinsella who lost two children in the blaze of August 8th 1980, was critical of the fact that there is no memorial to the ten victims of the tragedy in Bundoran.

I thought this was very insentitive of the councillor, it more about tourists and vistors to Bundoran, than anything to do with concerns about the families. i believe it is right and proper that we never forget about these disasters & we learn from mistakes in the past. This has been an excellent series by RTE.

If a mod would like to chop that down to a link, it's here.
This is the same Sean McEniff who complained that Met Eireann had a conspiracy against the North West, always forecasting raiin there. When he challenged the forecast on a particular day the records proved he was wrong, all this played out on the Joe Duffy show with him on the phone from Majorca.
This is the same Sean McEniff who was done for drunk driving after being caught changing seats with his passenger and in Brian Lenihan (snr) style suggested to the arresting Garda that this might be a carrer-limiting move.
