Firstly, don't patronise me. I may be 19 but I know plenty about football.

Badly? Under Sven they made the Quarter finals in the World Cup twice in 2002 and 2006. They made the Quarter finals of the Euros in 2004 as well. In that time they only lost two games: The 2-1 against France in 2004 and that can hardly be blamed on the manager, and the 2-1 against Brazil (who went on to win it) in 2002 where Seaman made the mistake for Ronaldinho's goal. In 2004 and 2006 they lost to Portugal on penalties. Again, you can't blame the manager there. In all three qualifying campaigns England topped the group and qualified automatically. Until the Northern Ireland defeat Sven's England team hadn't lost a qualifying game. What's so bad about that?

The English media crucified him because he was foreign and they thought the England squad were brilliant. Let's see how long McClaren lasts....

I've already highlighted his succesful club career, which is why he got the England job in the first place, and I ought to remind you he's at a club now. And if you think he did bad with the England team, well maybe the fact that he HASN'T signed ANY English players for an English club tells you what he thinks of the English players.

But what do I know? I'm just a "young lad".

sorry i did actually patronise you, sorry for that,
but your knowledge of football (like geography) is debatable

you are entitled to your opinion, and so far i cant really argue with you about man city, but if we are going by the league so far then spurs are relegated, man city and sunderland are in the CL, and its a barren season for manure utd

Sven and his quarter finals, blah blah blah, instead of telling me stats, i would prefer to talk about his tactics or lack of them, or his man mangement style, or his ability to have a team of world class players perform like headless chickens, which happened when he was manager of england. and thanks to my eyesight i saw for myself on TV, seeing is believing

and international football is a joke anyway

i can safely say united have blown it after 2 games anyway i wouldnt back them at 3's now!!.... if there wasnt a team like chelsea around these days it wouldnt be too big a deal but ya cant afford to drop 4 points in opening 2 games and catch them!!... united had there best start to a league ever last yr and didnt win it by much!!....
There's the right way, the wrong way.... and the Max Power way!! :-D

still early days yet. Liverpool could beat Chelski Sunday, Man Utd beat City and the gap is one point.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!

Get over that, will you? Do you harass everbody who calls this island group the British Isles. It is the recognised name. Get used to it.

I don't even know what you're on about here. I never made any predictions in this thread about how teams would do this season. You did and then you changed it very quickly when you said Man City would be relegated and then, just 3 days later, you said they wouldn't be. After one game. Why don't you read what you're typing before you go making a fool of yourself.

Football is based on results and it's proven that Sven gets results. How he does it? Who knows? But he did get them at club level and international level. After Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson, Sven's England's most succesful manager based on statistics.

I'll say it again, the English media overhyped the team which is why you're led to believe the England team is world class and should've won the World Cup. Personally, I wouldn't have Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Robinson, Emile Heskey, David James or Ledley King in any world class XI. You're clearly one of the English media's bitches.

This is your best argument yet. Your entire anti-Sven debate has been based on Sven's international experiences, now you are discrediting international football. So what's your argument based on now?

    wikipedia is a great thing

sorry that my predictions are not always 100% accurate, its hard to do, especially so early on in the season,
by the way i did "tip" chelsea and sunderland
    but we will see

results? yes you are right, england won nothing under Sven, not even near!!

overrated? yeah they are, cause they always have rubbish managers who do nothing with them, but in terms of the actual players they have, they should do better, with a decent manager................Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand, Scholes, Cole, Carragher, terry....yeah you are right they are all crap

international footy is crap, im sure if Alex ferguson or martin o Neill had the english team they would win a cup half asleep

Actually the Sun, rubbish as it is, is very good for football, especially good tips for games

Anyway Superfrank who do you reckon will do well this season?

    Haven't seen enough teams play.

But, having a quick glance, I'd say Newcastle will do (relatively) well. I'm not so sure about Liverpool. Awful lot of money spent on Torres and I don't know if he's worth it. I've only ever seen him play for Spain and I don't know if he fits into Liverpools style.

Relegation from the PL will probably be Derby, Birmingham and Wigan. Bolton, Fulham and Boro to have poor seasons.

Forest will **** on League 1 this season!!
I did pretty well on predictions for last season

some of you guys should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!
