Squad numbers

They are getting the squad numbers/names done for the Pats game.

Good idea IMO.

Where did ya hear that Neil? I know Dolan said squad the other night that he was planning on getting squad numbers but I didn't realise we'd have them as soon as the Pats game.

I hope we do get them soon because they are indeed a great idea.

Great Move

It'll look very good on TV3, people sitting at home will be able to pick out players, get to know them etc.

I wonder will O'Grady try to steal 11 back from Billy Woods? It might make James happy if he does
Oh no not them again

How about Woods ... take the finger out this year and no sleeping on the job.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Is a great idea methinks. Still won't be putting any number on de back of me shirt though. For whoever I prefer as me favourite every season. Bad luck seems to follow.

Last season it was Rennie and look what has befallen him

Excellent, it will allow non-regulars to identify the players more easily, it will enable people to get a player on their jersey without worrying about him changing his number, it will look better on TV and it looks far more professional all round.

I might have to get O'Flynn 9 on my jersey at some stage now.

TBH i think its kinda pathetic seeing grown men wearing Jerseys with players name on them.

Still though, its a damn good idea, and i think i more clubs follow suit, itll help the league no end.

As for woods, dont give the waster a squad number and sell the fool .

City never have a no. 13 on the bench goes 12, 14 so I dont think a goalkeeper would fancy the lucky number, they are ment to be the worst for pre-match routines etc.
Oh no not them again

i have to say the squad numbers thing is a good idea but it does look a bit stupid if one team has them and the other team doesnt .Its about time the powers that be had a standardised view on it either we all have them or no team has them.

I dunno, I always find it pathetic aswell when I see grown men walking around town with Keane or Larrson or Owen or whoever on the back of a jersey.
However, if you were to get a City player on the back of your City jersey would it not be just a way of showing your apprieciation for that players efforts for your team? Or is it a practice that should be reserved for the kids?

Hopefully this year anyway, we can all get Champions 03 on the back of our jerseys!

Fekc getting names on our shirts, where are those "I saw City win away 02/03" tee-shirts that we were going to get? I want one!

Birr, the memories of Bray that night still make me shiver, at least those goals & the Flynny Flick warmed us up!

I had Keane 6 on the back of my world cup jersey. Id love to see fellas with Woods or O Flynn on their backs as it would add to the atmosphere.

Squad numbers are a sh!te idea! You only end up with stupid numbers like 47 and 31 running around, plus an occasional idiot who thinks it's cool to wear 69! I though this sort of stuff had gone when Pat's stopped doing it - must be Dolan's influence already.

1 to 11 is the way it should be - look much better. One team rather than 11 individuals and all that.

Rant over!
