It was the highest number of Sales in a long time-no coincidence that there was quite a number of match 3's and of course a winner.

ya i know that but theres only usually 2-4 match 3 winners a week that would mean 3 times the amount were sold to have that many match 3's, i dont think there would have been that many sold, thats why i think its weird...maybe it was the numbers that came out?!
There's the right way, the wrong way.... and the Max Power way!! :-D
There are definitely some numbers that more people pick. Earlier this year I was one of 26 people to match 3! I really ought to get on to PD and change my numbers- otherwise I'll probably end up having to split the jackpot when I win it![]()

The amount of match three's is like the numbers picked, totally random.
Certain sets of numbers will produce higher match threes, depending on their location on the ticket.
2,4,6,8 is much more likely to generate more M3s per draw than 22,24,26,28. People normally pick higher numbers on the ticket.
When GUST re-started the draw in 2001, it was not uncommon to have no
M3s (five random tickets got E40 each). This hasn't happened in the last 3/4 years.
The more M3s, the better for sales. People are more likely to play again if they have won money, even if its only E10 (Mr A !). Its great to see a large geographical spread amongst the winners as well.
Hell the story of my life as I have had two numbers quite a few times but always miss out on the 3rd . I will have to change my name to Barry Moran as like to the rest of us I can't see myself scoring .........
