21s had a deserved win over the cork city 21s last night winning by 4 goals to nil but helped (well he was crap for both sides) by some sad reffing again. goals for clarke, Harken, and subs Tierney and Brazier. Some great football being played though, id tie down a few 21s for the assault on the first division for next season as about 5 have gone back to lure of junior football and € already.
Great result yet again from our U21's to bring an end to a weekend of disappointment.
Despite the result Cork City looked a very good side and were difficult to break down. Both keepers were kept busy in the first half but Cork came closest to opening the scoring, our keeper saved a penalty, and Paul Danagher made a clearance off the line.
Aled Harkin eventually broke the deadlock with a free-kick in the second half. Davie Ryan got the second, then a Cork player was sent off for a second yellow. Tierney came on and put away the third with his first touch. Then a second Cork player was sent off following a dosgy tackle and a bit of argy-bargy. Dont know if was a second yellow or what. Tierney intercepted a poor kickout and squared it to Brazier for an easy finish for the fourth.
This result puts Limerick 37 at the top of the table, with Kerry League 1 pt behind. Limerick play Kerry league away in their next game on Saturday.

He's alright, not standing out in particular though but I dont mean that in a bad way, its just there's others around him that really stand out. (sorry Gael if I've overstepped the mark by commenting on individual players).
BTW i'm not 100% sure he is who I think he is, can anyone confirm (wore no.10 last night) ?
And does anyone know who was our no.7 ?

Top of the table clash today in Mounthawk park in Tralee, and clearly Kerry have entered the rugby world cup as they kicked a young limerick team up and down the overgrown pitch. With Kerrys Stephen O'Mahoneys uncle reffing the game he did set out to **** limerick over however, a goal each from Shane Clarke and John Tierney gave Limerick a deserved win and gave Kerry what they deserved also. Limerick keeper gone to hospital, as i type. Well done lads! next two games both at home to very strong waterford and wexford sides.
Another good win today for our U21's, not our strongest side either as we were without Peter White, Paul Danagher, Shane Barry (our regular keeper) and Darren Harrington.
We opened the scoring with a penalty (dont remember who took it) followed by a goal from Aled Harkin before we conceded two soft goals to make it 2-2 at half time. Second half goals came from Harkin, Clarke and Brazier![]()

5 2 flattered us but we'll take it anyway. I think our front men are what makes the diff in most game, clarke, brazier and Tierney (who got a bad ankle injury btw) next week we're at home to Wexford youths who are a strong side.
Our under 21s are at home this sunday at 2 bells to Wexford. This is the third last game in the munster series and all is looking good. Our remaining games are away to KIlkenny and home to Lifford (Clare) Can all supporters make the effort to attened this game as the lads deserve it
Wexford had to win the game, Limerick didnt. Wexford played a 4 6 0 formation and relied on break out football and set pieces which they were always going to get with a ref who didnt leave the half way line. Limerick lacked reg phisicallity such as white and Dannager and suffered. Should have been 10 0 up before they got that "free." Still two winnable games left so i still expect them to win the group.
And Kerry League drew 1-1 at the weekend so Limerick look like they will win the League

Limerick were well on top in the first half, never expected they would eventually lose this one.
Did anyone see why Mikey Collins was sent off ? Their keeper went down but I didnt see what actually happened. Shame though, he'd been doing well since coming back into the side and will probably miss the next game or two.
Donie Curtin was having a good game, best I've seen from him, but he was subbed - his replacement didnt have the same impact I thought.
They're now definitely through to the knockout stages, but even after this defeat they still look most likely to top the group![]()

Our 21s won the munster section today with a 3 0 away victory over Kilkenny City. We only had 12 players going down (sub keeper was no 12) as we had a lengthy injury list and two players played who were injured and stood out on the wings, dave ryan and John Grant. Peter white got one and Aled Harkin the other two. Keeper was booked for taking down striker and a peno awarded, he saved but took the same player down a min later and was sent off. Sub keeper then came on and saved the second peno![]()
