Jay Tabb scored his sixth of the season in the same game

David Bell started his first game on loan at Leicester

Steve Finnan made his first appearance in a matchday XVI for seven weeks, as an unused substitute
Robbie Keane was substituted again, he had only completed three games in February and March
Damien Duff made his first appearance in a matchday XVI for Newcastle in three weeks, as an unused substitute
Lee Carsley has been booked more in the last three months than in the whole of last season. He's picked up six yellow cards since January, and was only booked four times in the whole of last season

Congratulations to Keith Andrews on lifting the Football League Trophy with the MK Dons. He opened the scoring with his second penalty of the season

Irish Abroad Statistics for March: http://www.chatsoccer.net/irishabroad/march.xquery
Darren Randolph and Sean St Ledger won more games than any other player. Both players started five wins in March
Darren Randolph also started more games than any other Irish player, and completed more games than another player
Wes Hoolahan and John-Joe O'Toole drew more games, with five draws apiece
Joe Murphy and Jim Goodwin reflected the relegation form of Scunthorpe as both lost five games
Martin Rowlands was substituted four times, more than any other player
Darron Gibson, Ben Burgess and Adam Rooney were all introduced from the bench four times. All of Gibson's introductions were away from Molineux Stadium
Darren O'Dea was the most unused substitute defender for the second month running
Caleb Folan and Andy Keogh were the top scoring Irish players in March, with three goals each
Folan was the best talisman for his club, with every goal leading to a win for Hull. Curiously, each goal came in a substitute appearance, Folan had 2 starting appearances and did not score in either
Leon Best was shown more yellow cards in March than any other player

Ciaran O'Brien came on as a sub for Colorado against LA Galaxy on Saturday night with about 20 minutes to go. He looked to be a decent player, doing well in midfield, broke up a few LA moves and passed well until a few minutes remaining when he promptly hacked down Carlos Ruiz and got a red card for his troubles.

The other Irish MLS player Ronnie O'Brien should play on Thursday night in the opening game for San Jose.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

Anyone know what happened to Chris Fagan at Man U? He looked decent in action in the youth cup first leg last year?

O'Shea came on as a sub against Roma today in the first half after Vidic was injured.

He slotted into centreback alongside Ferdinand and did well.

Vidic looks like he will be out for a while so O'Shea should get a run in the team.

Greg Cunningham and Karl Moore were on the scoresheet as Man City's reserves came from a goal down against Wigan Athletic to win 3-2. Garry Breen captained the side, and Paul Marshall also appeared for the Blues' second string.

    leicester v scunthorpe 1-0

i didnt make it to this one to see scunnys Irish contingent, but Bell made his debut, he kept Stephen Clemence out, club captain and an almost ever present this season. i believe Clemence got player of the year ar birmingham last year also.

looking forward to watching Bell, he has delivered a few assists for luton when ive seen him before, the manager here has described his arrival as a signal of the clubs intent (!) but he was linked with west brom a lot in the window.

says he wants to stay: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ty/7326353.stm

Whelan scored a cracking volley for Stoke in a 2-1 loss to Palace.

Delap had a solid enough game, and was a threat on every throw-in past half.

Morrison was full of running up front for Palace, but didn't contribute much beyond that.

Scannell came on for the last few minutes and looked lively, nearly grabbing a late goal in the process.
