Crowd was big but not sure on figures. Good home support but only noticed it after we scored!

Oh and I think Cobh mite still do it. Dundalk were not the team that they should b considering the lead they had built up earlier in the season. Philly who???

Brilliant stuff. Dundalk looked more likely most of the way but didn't really trouble Rouse (fine keeper btw) too much. Yeer number 9 worked his ass off from start to finish and then yeer number 10, who'd spent the previous 85 mins scratching his arse and little else runs two past the Dundalk keeper.

I've rarely seen such a sorry more dejected looking bunch of supporters than those Dundalk folks ...who's mockney chanting, while being admirable for it's consistency for 85 mins, trailed off almost instantly once the first goal went in. I shouldn't laugh -I'd have been sickened to the pits if it'd been Limerick -but still ...priceless.

Hey Lionel, u should have come up to say hello to me! I was the one announcing the goals & I have to say it was the thrill of the year for me to be able to announce "Monaghan United 2 Dundalk 0 and the goal scorer was Willie Doyle again!" Aw will go down as one of the best moments of my life!

Good game on the telly. Sligo can fairly move it about since Cook took over.

The first half was very good. Both sides kept the ball on the ground and played some good stuff. Sligo threathned early on and could have scored more than once. Cork scored against the run of play (great ball from Farrelly btw) which brought them back into the game and ended the second half strong. I thought Devine and the wall could have prevented Sligo's second- good free all the same though. Sligo killed the game after that, which was fair enough.

Cook has really transformed Sligo- for their sake they'll want to make sure they hang on to Judge and Kudozovic, the best strike partnership in the league. They're playing some good stuff and have sorted their defence out.

Oh I don't know - beating your bitterest rivals in a crunch game is the best thing ever. Probably a more intense high than winning the League.

Your completely right monutdfc, I know if it was the other way round I would be irrate with Dundalk, lifting their game for two games a season and then playing half assed the rest of it.

Soory Mons fans but whats the point in coming bottom three every season and justifying it because you beat your rivals once that season, it really shows a terrible lack of ambition by all parties.

how is it fickle? i've stuck by this group of players for 18 months. now i've given up hope, we need wholesale changes. the point was, while the talent in your squad may be limited, at least they give a damn. squad, manager - everyone must go. the rot has set in and i can't see anything turning it around. with the cash flowing into dublin clubs, we're in freefall and we're going to end up accepting our position as just another "provincial" club.

exactly buddy, bring 'em on, it will be the highlight of alot of Harps fans football life IF we beat Derry. The way we r playing im fairly optimistic goin into that game
Fair played Mons, maybe ye can get a good support out now. Last time we were down there, we had a disapointing crowd down yet we still out numbered the home fans. I suppose a club cant really progress if it hasnt much support.
