    Bernstein quits

    From
    www.iolfree.ie/~bohsfans

Darren Bernstein has handed in his letter of resignation to the FAI in Merrion Square today. He is sick of the politics within the organisation and dislikes many of the people running the FAI. Bernstein, seen as a saviour by many eircom League fans has spoken out against his employers in public on occasions. He tried to change the mind set within the organisation towards the eircom League and was the only FAI official to be seen week in week out at grounds up and down the country. He was also behind the planned marketing campaign for the new league season, beginning on April 7th. Many thought he was doomed from the start taking on a job to market the league without a budget, but he has helped organise clubs off the field and tried to improve relations between them. BohsFans Unofficial Site would like to publicly thank him for all he's done for the game in Ireland and we wish him the best for the future.

    **** the begrudgers.

He will be a loss to the EL imo. The one time that I met the guy I was very impressed with him, he seemed to want the league to move forward and did things like organising the marketing seminar last season, however he wasn't getting co-operation from certain clubs who couldn't be bothered to even send a representative to the seminar.
He was probably too forward thinking for the rest of the muppets in Merrion Square.

Post Shame - Great loss -

Perhaps trying to convince anyone in Merrion Square of anything is a bridge too far.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

His coat was probably on a shaky nail from the time he announced that though they'd appointed a marketing executive the clubs had neglected to give him a budget to market with.

    Cucking shower of funts.
EL grounds are like good episodes of The Simpsons, no matter how many times you see them they're still funny

Post It is as if ....

It is as if they dont want to progress .... one dumb move after another. They should be trying to retain staff like that.

It's a massive loss. He was a truly dedicated guy who simply wanted to see progress. The FAI has some real explaining to do.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

Never got to see the guy at those fans seminars but not at all surprised he gone the same way as Dooney. I may even have predicted it here last year....

A sound bloke with some good ideas, not the end of the world though, and certainly no surprise.
