Not dying to see it fail at all. I'd much rather clubs didn't have the threat of being kicked out of their ground hanging over them. However, I recall general vitriol against anyone who dared question the source who heard from a secret meeting that planning permission was to be granted, and out of hand dismissal of any negative comments.
