Cashel have got very strong under age teams as they always have had,but in years gone by all these players left for different clubs when they got ta youths level cause things werent movin as smoothly as they should have been but now players are willing to stay and play for their hometown club and not moving onto the so called bigger clubs..And with having no youth team their is a stromg under 15s team which is there for the future and if you look at the team that played michaels last week, all the players are very young apart from one or two so that can only be good!!Never know what way the game will go on sunday but either way should be a tough game for both sides n may de best team win!!

With the utmost respect to Ballingarry, their pitch is brutal. Very narrow.
They are a tough team to play against.
They are leading Division 1 of TSDL.

Cashel by all accounts deserved to win the last game, so why is it such a shock to hear someone say that they can win the next one !!

I agree about Michaels not being as good as before, loosing games they would have scored a hatful of goals in a few years ago. Is it the fact that players are more inclined to stay with their own clubs now or are the players just not there???

How come Clonmel Town can keep a high standard every year and no-one else can
Was at saints v Cashel yesterday.. Saints were very comfortable and only for poor finishing, luck and the cashel keeper it could have been 3 or 4.. cashel had 1 shot on target in whole game. saints defence mopped up everything.. I must say the cashel pitch was shocking. I walked across it and the holes and bumps on it for this stage of the year is worrying.. It won't suit this cashel team who like to pass it about.. Cashel are a nice team, very niave but should be in premier league in 2 years.

Missed the Town match yesterday, heard that Clashmore were poor.
Any news on 3rd round draw, when is it going to be made. Celtic seemed to have gotten back on track, which is good to see

A tough away tie for Michaels but they got through it just the same. Can you see then going much further though, the team has been struggling for a few years now and gone through various management set ups and still no-where!

Its fine being in the top section of the league, but the competition hasn't been there in order to threaten that. The cup competitons haven't seen too many winners medals either, how are Michaels going to get back to where they were a few years ago

Yeah I agree with you, not bad.

But for a club of Michaels stature they should be whipping teams in their league and getting themselves well into the latter stages of the BIG competitions.

If soccer was like GAA and you could only play for your own local team how well do you think the big 2 would do then ?

Would the fact that players have began sticking with their local team be a reason behind Michaels fading back from top junior soccer competition in the last few years?

How many of the top teams ( I don't want to sound like I'm picking on St.Michaels ) have a good 7 or 8 players from their locality?

The last time St.Michaels were in a big final was the MJC 2006.

    Squad :
Kevin O Sullivan, James Walsh (Cashel) - Paul Breen (Dundrum) - Christopher Higgins, Stephen Grace (Bansha) - Derry Peters (Aherlow) - Ray McMahon, Barry Ryan (Limerick) - Padraig Fogarty (Thurles) - Richie Ryan
(Annacarthy) - Aaron Moroney (Clonmel) -Sean O Halloran, Davy Ryan, Denis Cremmins, Lee Dudley, Alan Kiely (Tipperary Town).

Of the starting 11 only 3 players were from Tipp Town.

Everyone knows that Clonmel Town have a bulk of Clonmel players in their squad, but it is easier for them in the sense that there are a few clubs in the town.Clonmel Town are such a successful club if they approach players from other clubs within the town they seem to jump at the opportunity. But thats football I guess.
