Good start to the season for Town but we wont be getting carried away just yet- a long way to go.

Fair enough, but you would have to admit that it's looking very good.
Up until the result Sat. night, I would have said that it will depend on the result in Clonmel between the 2 sides. now, I'm not so sure. Even if Town were to lose that game they'd still have breathing space. I can't see Town losing many games in the league this year, they always seem to be able to step it up when needed. Even though Town will probably be concentrating on the FAI and Munster Cups this year, I think they have already gone a long way to regaining their title!

michaels have signed new players. shane mcgrath and pa quinn from cahir park, derek breen from peake and paul kennedy from clonmel celtic all started sat night. galbally had 1 player ciaran o callaghan up front on his own on the night he could have scored 4 or 5 five if it wasnt for keeper. up against paul tobin , paul breen, richie ryan and chris higgins 4 top quality defenders he really showed his class. fair play to the young lad
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!

[QUOTE=stephen07;761994]Whats happening with St.Michaels have they lost players or are they just a bit crap at the moment. No disrespect to Galbally but in fairness they should not be beating Michael's on their own turf

After a tough game Wed night against Town, money man Tom ran a session on Friday night that would do justice to a pre season La Manga session 24 hours before they played again. Heard that Micks deserved to lose on Sat night as Galbally played very well helped by a team that was out on its feet before half time.

What about peake this year? Have they signed anyone. They must have a small enough squad with the 4/5 departures to Kilkenny City. I heard david horan is back, so that can only be good news. A class act at the back. Best center half in the league.
They have 3 wins and a draw so far, so not a bad start to the season. A fully fit Michael ryan is back as well, and has grabbed a few goals. They always have too many draws though against oppoisiton on the road (Cahir, Two-mile borris), and will find it tough against clonmel town both home and away.

It would have been interesting to see how they would have faired if they held on to the full squad. I fancy them for second though, with clonmel celtic on the slide, and michaels not up to their usual standard.

peakes team is only average this year. few foreign lads are handy but nothing special. michael ryan and davey horan are class players. i taught the squad they had last year was very strong and would have won last years munster junior if they didnt loose the 4 lads to kilkenny. theyve lost another couple of players this season so are doing very well under the circumstances

    New Signings

Is it true that Clonmel Town have signed Ian Fraher and Robbie Costigan from Cahir Park?

    Peake Villa

Thought Peake Villa were fairly poor against Clonmel Celtic, Celtic dominated the second half and must have had about ten corners or frees around the box. And to be honest, Celtic are absolutely atrocious and if they don't get their act together will be going down

Eventhough I am a Clonmel Town Fan, it is very sad to hear about all the trouble that Celtic is in. I just hope that they do sort out their problems, Clonmel needs and can accomidate two big teams

You're right, Clonmel could easily accommodate two big teams with both challenging for the title. I wish some of the people at your own and several other TSDL clubs felt the same way though; a lot of Celtic's signed players have been approached ever since the sh*t hit the fan.........still no one can force anyone to leave, you couldn't blame them really (maybe a bit )

Danny Madigan and Stephen Ryan have left and joined Clonmel Town? I know Madigan has, just wondering if the Stephen Ryan story is true?

    Yeah, it's true alright.
Good result for Celtic yesterday 2-1 against Cahir, in fairness it could have been 10 with the chances missed. Brian Carroll got the winner but could've scored a hat-trick. If the players left stay together they could yet stay up.

    Town V Galbally

Both played for Town yesterday against Galbally as well as Ian Fraher and Barry O'Neill. You have to question the wisdom of signing Stephen Ryan- chronically unfit, no control and devoid of ideas??? Moroney looked a lot more comfortable when partenering Illija up front. TBH i dont think S. Ryan is good enough for Town B. The other 3 looked comfortable enough although id be surprised if any of them can force their way into a first choice 11. The match itself was a poor spectacle, Town never really got out of second gear and Galbally didnt create much going forward. Sterner tests lie ahead.

That is some hammering Clonmel Celtic got, where has it all gone wrong for them after such an impressive season last year

Good result for Bansha Celtic away from home and the other results going their way too. A good young squad there, once they stay up they will be a team to watch out for in the coming seasons

Clonmel threatened quite a lot from set pieces(of which they had a lot) but did very little in general play(other than win those set pieces) , Nenagh had success mainly on the counter-attack but Clonmel would have had more possession and a few more chances(although nothing really clear cut) .

Michael Hogan(Scouter) scored a 25 yard cracker to give Nenagh the lead , Raymond Condon equalised by hammering the ball in from 6 yards after a long throw had failed to be dealt with .

Jean Semanovich made it 2-1 Clonmel in the first half of extra time and Michael O'Gorman equalised in the second half of extra time after a **** up between the keeper and one of his defenders .

Nenagh were coming on strong towards the end of extra time but couldn't find a 3rd goal to nick the game . Clonmel won 5-3 on penalties(not 5-4 as some sources are saying) with Michael Coady, Barry O’Neill, Kenneth Kiely, Richie Ryan and Arron Moroney scoring for them and Michael O'Gorman , Stefan Olah and Gary McCormack scoring for Nenagh , Martin Donnellan missed for Nenagh .
