Why are RTE showing Derry's games?

Can RTE show a UEFA CUP game if they haven't paid for the rights. They have the rights for the Champions League or is that only from the group stages.

this thread is completely stupid.how can anybody complain about derry being on the box!if they didn't show derry's games it would be an absolute disgrace...this is the biggest club competition in the world with an eircom league team taking part in it so its only right that they show it.and such a stupid argument about the tv licenses!this game attracts interest from all eircom league fans across the country, not just derry.im from sligo and i still want to see the gameand i would be very annoyed if they didn't show it.and finally best of luck to derry in the 2nd leg,do us proud!

Those rights are only from the group stages on as far as I know.
