'The Dalai Lama is in Derry today for a conference, but even he would have difficulty maintaining his composure in the Brandywell tonight'

    Tenuous or what?, (from George)

The Dalai Lama is counted among John Hume, that lad off TV and Jesus as one of Derry's most famous fans. Unfortunately, even he couldn't get a ticket tonight as the Derry fateful flocked to see some of the worst crossing in the world courtesy of young Eddie McCallion. But he did manage to find his way to a local for a few pints with those other ticketless fans and was heard saying "If only Paddy would shave his flowing locks and join us at our mountain retreat, his karma on the pitch would help enlighten the folks back home"

Derry were awful tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes to penalties.

    Indeed

Derry were far from awful tonight. Do you really expect plenty of goals against a dirty team who sat and defended for the whole 90 minutes. Paddy was excellent,Oman was brilliant, our only problem was they were resolute and hard to break down.

12 or so corners and all of them terrible, amazed that tactic has won you cups

McCourt went on a few good runs but had very little end product. At one stage he was in acres of space with plenty of time to cross but he decides to run straight towards the defender. He can't have possession of the ball without attempting to beat a defender.

They weren't hard to break down, Derry were just awful in the final third. Deery and McCallion wasted loads of good crossing opportunities. 12 corners as well and not even a shot on target from them. Morrow looks like a decent player but had to come too far deep to get the ball.

    Exactly.
0-0 at home against a team from Armenia?
I think I'm going to pyunik!
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

O'Bama - "Eerah yeah, I'd say we can alright!"

Knocked it round reasonably well but lacked a cutting edge up front.

McCourt's first game back and he was a passenger after 60mins having burst himself up until then.

    Molloy and Oman were immense.

Martyn and Morrow looked like they haven't played much football recently and were anonymous for long periods.

Referee was a clown who seemed to view football as a non-contact sport. Also had problems with the rule that corners go to the opposing team to whoever touched the ball last.

I'm also amazed at many of the comments on here. Have any of you seen Derry play this season? There's a reason we are in the bottom half of the League.

Its only Robertson's second game and his trying hard to undo the tactical ineptitude, lack of fitness and selection and hiring muppetry that went before him.

One things for sure, it would've been a hell of a lot worse under Fenlon.

So all considered, I'm not going to lose too much sleep tonight.

It's the 1st Round qualifiers, it's bound to be poor.

Derry looked a side who are 7th in the league. Passing astray, chances few, and you wouldn't give them any chance of getting the result they need out there, on the back of a 0-0 here.

    Poor enough game.

Hard to know whether Pyunik were being very cagey or just aren't much good. Derry created very few decent chances and are obviouly lacking confidence with their poor season so far.

Pitch was very bumpy as well, which didn't help Derry.

Pyunik would be favourites but only just. What are temperatures likely to be next week?
