that top 50 list is dreadful. Anyone who has Lampard above Scholes and Gattuso needs their head examining.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
saw it the other day. garbage article.

Well researched too
"44 Sergei Rebrov (Tottenham)
Looked good enough playing alongside Andriy Shevchenko for Dynamo Kiev. Sadly, Glenn Hoddle’s £11m signing never looked the same force with Steffen Iversen. "
Actually signed the year before Hoddle took over by George Graham, you'd expect more from the Times
Just a bit of fun really. I mean who would realistically have Materazzi, Charlie Nicholas and Vinnie Jones in their worst list? They maybe didn't live up to the hype but weren't bad players.

It also misses Jimmy Carter, another Souness Liverpool classic, who I recall watching live on RTE once. As one would expect, he was brought on for someone after 60 minutes, and was taken off after another 15 minutes. Gold.
A good few hard done by, Jones, Nicholas and Lundekvam standing out.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Anyone for Dean Richards? Signed for Spurs for £6m, scored on his debut and promptly flopped spectacularly for the remainder of his stay.

Harsh on Richards IMO. I'm sure it was about £7.5m he signed for. He was a decent centre half just not top notch. Can't blame him for the over inflated fee paid for him.

Jensen was a very decent defensive midfield player.
lionel scaloni deserves to be in there

Not sure Carton Palmer should be there. Played very well when he was at Wednesday and I think earned an English cap.
Only one Irish and he appears on the sub list of 20 who "should have been in the Top 50" sent in by the fans:
19. Paddy Roche (Manchester United). “If Massimo Taibi is on the list for that one game for Man Utd then surely Paddy Roche has to be on the list for every game he played!” (Steve F, Birstall, W. Yorks)
Poor Paddy. He made some terrible mistakes when playing for Man U.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
Some hard decisions in there, imo. Jody Morris, Claus Lundekvam, David May and Nigel Quashie aren't that bad.
Of course you just knew Ali Dia would be number one.
EDIT - Just had a look at the best fifty and any list without Ribery is just poor.

David May and Carlton Palmer are very harsh in my opinion, but of them solid ball winners, and did their jobs for Blackburn and Wednesday respectively. I doubt May would have been at United for as long as he was if he was that bad too.
Shouldn't Taibi be up a bit higher as well?
