I think the Georgia TV company are looking for daft money for the rights. Something like what happened for the play off against Turkey a few years ago.
Can anyone tell me if the Georgia game is going to be on TV ?
It does not appear to be on Sky.
Do RTE have it ?

daft money
One of them.
I honestly don't have a clue of how expensive that is in the scale of things.
Ya, remember Irish Multichannel local channel said that THEY would have the exclusive right to show that Turkey match?

Unfortunately, it looks very much like neither will have it at this stage. Ah well, at least we won't have to see Ireland lose again. IMO, we're screwed without Robbie Keane now.Originally posted by razor

Munster 33-6 Gloucester
Aint revenge sweet?!
If the government stops anyone but RTE or TV3 from showing the irish games i think we should all get used to listening to Irealnd games on the radio.
Whereas it doesn't look like is the case this time its very likely that there'll be a scenario where RTE or TV3 can't afford the match & Sky are banned from showing the match.

wouldn't it be a case that sky, or whoever, would be banned from showing the match exclusively, so if rte and tv3 can't afford/be bothered showing the match, wouldn't sky be entitled to step in???
Have to agree with you, Joe. From my reading of whatever deal was done with the Government, Sky can show the games under those circumstances.Originally posted by joe

They'd have to show it free to air though wouldn't they and they'd hardly be arsed doing that.

I agree, but, as far as I know the FAI can cut their own deal with Sky if the Irish channels can't be bothered/afford it.Originally posted by Schumi

Sky are showing the albania match so why can't they show the Georgia game?
THe tv company that have the rights for the game want 240K while the most rte will spend is 130K. Looks like a dead duck. Rte paid about 150k for the Celtic /Liverpool 1st leg![]()
don't think the game is the fai's to sell.
Anybody know what the going rate is for a Euro qualifier?
RTE are showing the game live.
Ah thats good news now, isn't it?
Yes.
Ah bliss.
