Cook wasnt too keen on him for obvious reasons. There would of been some sort of pay off like Choice, the Pole etc.

He is entitled to as much money as is in the rest of his contract though. So if he was on a big wage and was signed for two years it would have been big.

He was on transfer list so not surprised by this. Good sub to bring on the odd time but don't think he'll ever be good enough for Premier Division football, good signing for Monaghan though.

i never really thought jay would make it in the premier division. i noticed after the longford game all the team were warming down together and joking about but jay was on his own looking quite annoyed. McDonald had said he improved a lot over the off season but i never really saw it myself
