well done city demanding compo, it would damage the crowd.
On Saturday April 12th at 5pm, as its the only time TV3 are willing to give.
City are demanding €10,000 in compo from the FAI, claiming that the move to Saturday evening will badly damage the crowd.
I dunno will it. Glad to see them leaving the pale for once. Now we have to have a noisy and colourful display.

Firstly, I don't think it will have that big an effect on the crowd and even if it did surely the fee they will get from TV3 would make up for it.Originally posted by GWA

Secondly, shoudn't City be trying to encourage TV3 to broadcast more games from Cork instead of moaning about it.
Champions!
in fairness the clubs always get €5-10k for live games although its mainly been dublin clubs benefiting.
I'll certainly be watching if its on to see if your flags and displays are up to scratch. no pressure.
where were you in 1916?
Friday, Saturday, even Monday at this stage, i'd say we'll fill the ground anyway no worries.Originally posted by dejan
no pressure.
Pressure ..... wrong choice of words my friend, the place will be rockin', just worried about getting there on time. Last year, one or two games there was crowds turned away ..... and ahh ...... I wouldn't miss this for the world.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
great news lads

Good decision by the FAI & TV3 to kick off the summer season with a what should be close to a full house.
Last time tv cameras were down for a live city v pats game was probably the 2-1 defeat & it was cracker of a game.
Great. I hope they promote it before hand and people might know that the season is starting.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
BWF reckons it'll still be a full house.
i reckon singers should meet up bout 2.30--3
p.s i see spillage had the "EXCLUSIVE" again today

I think it's a great idea, but if TV3 choose the time, the league should then insist that that is the time for all live games to be broadcast.
The league has been trying to get all games played @ 7:30 on Friday night, with the obvious exceptions, so TV3 should try to be consistent also.
Jaysus, this waiting is getting harder by the day..
IMO the sooner the thursday night games are moved to friday the better.
Might be best also to have the live games on a difference night to the rest of the league games.
IMO city should just take the standard compo package as they want to encourage TV3 to show city games live. Its no coincidence that $hel$ make more money that most of pitch side advertising & the fact that Tolka is on tv more than other grounds. City will make more cash in the long term from extra pitch side revenue than a few thousand extra from the league/tv3 for moving live games to different times.
I know ... enough already !!Originally posted by oddboy

The offical site has said that it is going ahead.
Cád é an scéal ???

It said in Irelan On Sunday yesterday that City are looking for €10000 compo, but his nibs in the Echo today said €20k.
anyone got any clue what the standard precedure is here.
Also, in other leagues they gey money from TV rights. I dont suppose eL clubs get a sniff of that no?

I really don't think that Cork City FC will be at a disadvantage since it's the first game of the season, Pat's fans aren't bad to travel and most will relish the chance to give Pat Dolan some stick.
If they get the compo then fair enough but if this situation is managed properly we can sell-out the ground.
Have Boot Disk, will travel
