In the past few months Linfield have produced safety exits from the Umbro South Stand to the terracing below. They have repainted the entire floor and steps of the Umbro South stand yellow. They have created a fire exit from the Viewing Lounge to the terracing below.

I know Solitude is no san siro either but well we don't recieve up to 400,000 pound a year from the IFA some of which is supposed to be spent on the upkeep of the ground!

Exactly what maintenance is carried out then? My understanding of the what said in the report is that very little work has been carried out by Linfield.

This hole thing stinks of Incompetence but sure what else would you expect from the IFA.
Can I just say we only ever received upwards of 400k once in the last 12 years(I cannot say before that as I never had the figures)

Linfields last financial year(our books are done from 1st January to 31st December) we only recieved 180k.

So we don't receive near as much as people think. Before the latest boom in NI matches, we where receiving sums of 60k which isn't much when you think we have to pay for all electricity of NI games, all security of NI games & insurance.

In some matches we actually lost in. One of the games it cost Linfield 5k to run, but we only received a cheque of 3,400 which obviously didn't cover expenses.

But people are ignorant to the facts when it comes to Linfield and our agreement with the IFA.

It has only became lucrative in the last few years.

Well said Steve. Supporters of other clubs north and south have just jumped on the bandwagon because on and off the field we have surpassed them, and they are just jealous, and are scraping the barrel for excuses. Thats it in a nutshell.

We've hosted Dugannon and Portadown 3 years running with no incidents. If you get some attitude from some culchie garda don't say things like "idn't sound the most welcoming people".
