Hopefully it will be an interesting an informative evening.
It's a very positive step that he is meeting with the fans so early in his managerial reign.

Is there any chance that one of ye could ask him to give the players perminant squad numbers? It makes things look so much more profesional and is as easy as pie. Pats had it before, so it shouldnt be a problem.

I agree that squad numbers are a great idea but I think the current deal with Le Coq means that when the First team are finished with a set of jerseys they are passed on to the youths or u21's. So, as long as that's the situation they can't put players names on the back of jerseys.

But surely its not too much to ask the club to just buy 22 jusreys and put the names & numbers on the back of them and (wait for it) wash the shirts after each match and re-use them!

Where did you hear that about Le Coq? It seems daft, even for City's standards.

    From Brian Lennox.

Anyway, any club in the league that had squad numbers have now abandoned them for whatever reason.

'Cause they're s***e! Soccer was meant to be played by two teams, with their players numbered 1-11. This squad numbers crap went way too far, way too fast. I even saw a player in Turkey wearing #99 on his jersey!! Call me a traditionalist/sentimentalist etc, but 1-11 is the way to go, plus it's just better.

I agree, a 1-11 team looks much better.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Pats haven't abondoned them. There was a problem with o'Niells last year but we'll be using them again. And they are good marketing tools

I don't like the high squad numbers more than anyone else but they have to be good for informing tv viewers or sunshine supporters who they actually watching.

People can name every two bit Premiership franchise player & I doubt if thete be the same name recognition without their names stuck to their backs.

I thought Lennox said last year he favoured squad numbers?

Very positive .... obviously committed ..... Needs to settle in but has hit the ground running from what i saw. Sound fella to talk to.

The crowd that turned up were very quite, Dolan is a great speaker and probably put a few people off, them being shy an'all.

    Overall .... great move

I thought he did well, answered every question he was asked and made some good points.
He seems to be settling in well and looks like he's looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.

    Wink

Very impressed with Dolan. His passion for the job was very evident. Even though he said he didn't want to discuss individual players I think he gave enough hints to tell us where his priorities lie. Centre half, centre midfield and right hand side. Wonder if he asked Gunther how come he hadn't spotted these shortcomings last season.
