Individual match segments of the other Euro '88 games I've taken out of 'The Charlton Years'...
Ireland 1 - 1 USSR (Euro '88):
Ireland 0 - 1 Holland (Euro '88):
Italy 0 - 1 Ireland (World Cup 1994):
Has anyone got any RTÉ footage of the immediate build-up to that game and the teams coming out? That rendition of 'Amhrán na bhFiann' sounded pretty special. Even Townsend looks like he's holding back a tear. I've only ever seen ESPN footage lately with awful commentary* and they spend the anthems (muted in the background) going through the team line-ups.
*The infamous "It's a chipper!"/"Roy Houghton of Aston Villa..."/"And once again, England go with the long-ball" commentary.

Thanks for posting them. An emotinal Aldridge in that last clip, dont recall seeing that interview before.
Win or Lose, we've had some unbelievable times following Ireland. Despite losing that playoff at Anfield, it still goes down as one of my all time favourite memories following the B.I.G.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Not sure if this has been posted already, but came across complete match footage of the game against England at Wembley in 1991:
The first five minutes or so are missing, but the rest is there in the recommended links, including half-time analysis from Des Lynam, Terry Venables and Jimmy Hill, until an interview at the end with Graham Taylor.
I dug out a few more random clips. Friendlies from 1992 and 1994 this time.
"There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the fault of his feet" - Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot
I have the full game Danny but the anthem is ruined by the band playing way too slowly and the fans are finished singing a good 20 seconds before the band catch up.
The full recording is 2 hours so not ideal for youtube - do you just want the build-up to the match?

looking for some help - anyone have footage of Cascarino's goal against England at Lansdowne Road? I believe it was in 1990. David Platt scored the opener for England with Cascarino scoring with his noggin for a change in a 1-1 draw. .
Its not on youtube or here from what i can see... Any help mucho appreciated...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
Yeah, just the build-up to kick-off would be brilliant if that wouldn't be too much hassle, cheers. I've re-watched the ESPN version on YouTube a few times now. These words are virtually ingrained in my head:
Under the promise of the statue, less than 20 miles from Miss Liberty, the Old World pride and passion will be unleashed today. At the centre of the emotional cauldron Roberto Baggio. His challenge is simple; lead Italy to an unprecedented World Cup championship.
*Cue ridiculous Rocky-style music*
That reminds me - from the same campaign - disappointing result in the end but a thriller of a game . . .
thanks a million ET.

A few more added to EastTerracer's post from the thread in general, and I've deleted my post to avoid confusion.
This thread just keeps on giving and giving!
