Highlights of Ireland's Euro 88 qualification campaign including the goals away to Belgium and Scotland and the home games against Luxembourg and Bulgaria
"There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the fault of his feet" - Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot
The original 1990 video for Put 'Em Under Pressure. How McCarthy got selected on drums ahead of Larry Mullen Jr is a mystery...

France v Ireland 1980,
Due to transmission failure, most of the video from this game was blacked out on RTE.
Platini goal - not for the faint hearted and not one Chris Hughton would ever want to watch again.
Killer's goal in San Marino added too; great header.
What's the best to do with this thread? Should everything be merged into one post with all other posts deleted (like boovidge's post and the opening post)? Or should it be left as is?
I like it the way it is but id prefer if it was a sticky on the main Ireland page... just a thought.
Fantastic resource though, wow.
Not a Youtube but on Friday at 10 on ESPN Classic it's the official UEFA film of Euro '88. Should hopefully be some good stuff on it.
Not sure if this has been posted but it features more match coverage of the Netherlands game at home in 2002 WCQ than the popular McAteer goal video:
I picked up a few more bits and pieces from some old videos when I was in Dublin.
"There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the fault of his feet" - Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot
I love Mick McCarthy at the start of this "despite what many people say, every single member of this team is 110% Irish"

The full build-up, shoot-out itself and immediate aftermath of the penalties in Genoa:
Hair-raising, tear-jerking scenes. Fantastic video.
It was 21 years ago on Saturday - superb memories!

I remember the first time I watched that video I was bawling my eyes out and had just soiled my nappy. That was about an hour ago!
Sadly, I have scant memory of watching it back in 1990.
That Staunton goal up there is superb. I think I was at that match but I'd no recollection of the goal.
I think he used up his lifetime quota of intelligence in that moment, mind you.
Thanks so much for putting up the videos, by the way.
"You've heard of Foster & Allen now we have Packie & Dave..." Commentary genius....
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
Could only each the first 11 min this mornings. Watched the last 11 there. My word you just never get tired hearing these words...
"A nation holds it's breath... we're there!!!"
Love it.

I uploaded the 'Charlton Years' documentary to YouTube earlier this evening. It's about an hour and a half long and is split into eight parts. Some great footage though. Here's part one:
The links to all the other parts can be found beneath the description on there.
Here are some bits I took out of it relating to specific matches.
England 0 - 1 Ireland (Euro '88):
NI 1 - 1 Ireland (Windsor Park, 1993):
Alan McLoughlin's goal from that game:
