She'll end up with about £600 a week I reckon (about £2,600 a month) but London is an expensive place......
A friend of mine has been offered a position in London which pays £45,000 per annum. That works out at £865 per week gross. She's wondering what the tax on this would leave her clearing every week? Can any of the UK based people here let me know?

£45,000 will put them in the higher tax bracket (40%).
The tax rates are
Starting rate 10% up to £2,230
Basic rate 22% from £2,231 to £34,600
Higher rate 40% over £34,600
Approximately the first £5000 of that is tax free.
Also National Insurance contributions are about 12.8%
Without paying into a pension scheme:
£2686 per month or £620 per week.

A £45,000 salary in London is healthy! Definitley a good wage and certainly something I'd consider if I was in her position. I'm based in the U.K tax here works as follows:
Every person in the UK has a personal tax allowance of £11,500 this financial year (2017-2018), which means that for the first £11,500 that you are earning, you'll pay no tax. That income can be from one or multiple jobs - just don't forget to add all the income sources together. If you earn £45,000 a year, you'll pay £6,700 in tax, and you'll take home £2,824 every month, a weekly take-home wage of £651. Not bad at all if you ask me!
Hope this info helps!
You realise you just replied to a 10 year old question, right?
'Twas good advice all the same. Though I'd fear the interest and penalties if he was my accountant! Welcome on board, Billy10 (is the clue in the name: you'll only reply to ten year old threads? Could be interesting times ahead.)
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!
