    Tommy Barrett!

There was a really strong rumour going around Jackman Park friday night that Tommy Barrett is coming back in July and even a few of the players I was talking to last week (ex-Rovers players) said that Tommy was coming back in the middle of July!! Can anyone give further detail on this (e.g) Oldkeeper, cause he would be a great signing for Limerick37!! True man Limerick man and fan!!

They are great players. It was the travelling not their football ability that made the difference. They were training at least twice a week in Dublin and then playing a game on Fridays.

I think it is different when you actually do it. The traffic will wear you down.

they left when it looked like we may not even have a club. Now we're 3rd in the league and with a bit of luck could be back in the premier division next season.

Thats such a stupid comment!! Every Limerick fan realised that these 3 players were ambitious and that they didnt want to return to Junior soccer in Limerick and wen Shamrock Rovers came in for them , they thought there would be no Senior soccer team in Limerick so they left!! I can guarentee you that not one Limerick fan slagged or abused Colbert, kelleher and barrett!! They are local legends as Needtoknow said!!

    P.S See u in Monaghan!!

This is taken from the Shamrock Rovers website:

    New signings at Rovers

Shamrock Rovers' boss Pat Scully has made three new signings to strengthen his squad as the Hoops aim to maintain their Premier Division title charge. Midfielders John Martin (from Longford Town), David Tyrrell (Bray Wanderers) and Ross Moran (Cherry Orchard) have joined, while striker Padraig Amond (Kildare County) and goalkeeper John McGuinness (Kilkenny City) are back following loan periods.
"John and David are both experienced players who will add a lot to our squad," says Scully. "Ross is coming from Cherry Orchard and he's a great prospect with an exciting future. Several other clubs were trying to sign him, but the fact that he chose Shamrock Rovers above everyone else says a lot about him and what this club can offer players."
In the other direction, Ian Ryan and Jamie Duffy have both gone out on loan to Longford Town for the rest of the season, while Tommy Barrett has been released. "Ian and Jamie have gone on loan to Longford as part of the deal that brings John Martin to Rovers," Scully explains. "While Tommy was released by mutual consent. "The travelling to and from Limerick took its toll. He's a lovely lad, he did a really good job for us, but in fairness it was very difficult for him and we wish him well."

No, that was probably directed towards you but your head is so far up your hole the echo may have made it seemed it was put in their direction.

Oh christ you again. Well not only did those three Limerick players go to Rovers but Austin O'Neill went to Kildare county (and wants to come back) John Lester is with Galway united and doing quite well, Dave Miller and Conor Sinnott are going well at Wexford and Colin Heffernan is ammm at Athlone so eight players of last years team left and three have chosen to return so im lost as to what your point is.
