as always, im also going to suggest you try firefox.
Tried a few online games which require this and it tells me that "Java applets are not enabled on your browser". Anyone know how I enable them?

There should be Java option of its own , have you got a JVM installed
Go to advanced, scroll down until you get to java and checked that it's ticked.
