The ball is round and has many surprises.
my fav at the moment (mine change to, quite a bit) are
ok computer - radiohead
younger than yesterday - the byrds
yoshimi battles the pink robots - the flaming lips
fossil fuel - the XTC singles 1977-92
highly evolved - the vines
Would pick "The Bends" ahead of "OK Computer" any day eoin.
What is the Vines album like though - they were the guys with "Get Free" weren't they? Twas a good song as I remember...
What was Ian Brown's first solo single anyone? Remember really liking it at the time.
Yeah Get Free is on it. i think its an excellent album. good mixture of stuff on it. my fav track on is called "factory". nice happy sound to it but the words are totally different.Originally posted by deise deserter

Wire - Pink flag
Interpol - Turn on the bright lights
Gang Of Four - Entertainment
Flaming Lips - Hit to death in the future head
Mercury Rev - Yerself is steam
i have Mercury Revs "All is Dream". The lead SINGERS VOICE CERTAINLY TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO. Although once you do there are some great tracks on there especially "a drop in time".
Apparently Jonathan Donahue (the lead singer) tried to gouge out another member of the bands eye with a spoon on board a flight to Britain!
i only have one flaming lips album but ive read that some critics rate one of their albumns as the record of the century!
Ian Browne - just dont go see him live me recomends
saw him supporting the manics in the point a few months ago and he was chit

SLK I couldn't agree more Relish, yaaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnnnn my god what's that all about. My they are brutal some nice funk in the back but would your man ever shut up, he loves the sound of his own voice. The things we listen to for the women we love huh!!

His first single was the bizarre My Star and On Top Of The Pops was;
A. One of the best live performances i've ever seen &
B. Ian Browns only good live performance ever.
Don't see him live.
It will ruin the legend.
Conor, i didn't think Whispers was one of the VERY best songs on the album.
I preferred F.E.A.R. another single, El Mundo Pequeno and my fave was The Gravy Train.
But then music is opinion.
I would recommend it as a purchase though.
Ye can add
Mercury Rev - Deserters Songs and
Ash - Free All Angels
to my list.
Ill add P.O.D. “Satellite”, Manic Street Preachers “Know your Enemy” and The Seahorses “Do It Yourself” as well... plus Feeder “Echo Park” although the new one “Comfort in Sound” is quite good.
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
Totally disagree about king monkey - go and see him in a smaller venue and he doesn't disappoint... saw him in The Olympia (twice) and the Red Box and he was excellent....
My Top Five albums (very predictable)
1 Stone Roses - Stone Roses
2 Happy Mondays - Pills N Thrills
3 The Charlatans - The Charlatans
4 Primal Scream - Screamadelica
5 Oasis - Definitely Maybe
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
Yeah, 'Echo Park' is wicked... haven't bothered picking up the new one yet though...Originally posted by PAURO 7
