With him and Conan we won't have any problems with right wing, unless in the unlikely event they both get injured at the same time...

Or unless Conan is two minutes late for a meeting because of Oxygen-related traffic and gets dropped while Fitzgerald is injured.

Possible explanations:

• Noel Mooney had the draw, but fell out of a boat and lost his memory. Now hunted by his former employers, he's in a race against time to figure out what the hell an 'UCD' is before John Delaney's goons get to him.
• The balls used in the draw were in fact the offspring of a race of ill-tempered and dangerous aliens which hatched shortly before the draw could take place.
• A Dundalk fan, bitter about not being in yet another competition because of Shamrock Rovers, stole the drum before setting fire to a small basket of fruit and being proclaimed a folk hero in Dundalk.
• A Derry official in attendance has John Delaney at gunpoint, and refuses to release him until he has a guarantee that Derry won't draw UCD away. The police have a hostage negotiator on the scene, but all mad Jim will say is "It's a bloody fire hazard, I tell you, and I'm not going back hi".
• FAI officials were so busy congratulating themselves on their world class semi final draw that no one remembered to bring the sponsor's board. We can't proceed without the sponsor's board.
