Odense is about an hour from Copenhagen so look for flights to Copenhagen. If you've already done that you could try flying with Ryanair to Malmö in Sweden. The airport in Malmö is about one-hour from Copenhagen. Also Ryanair fly to Billund in Denmark which isn't too far from Odense either (maybe 2 hours).

We played them on a community owned pitch in south Galway in autumn 1991in the first round of the European Cup Winners Cup.

What started out as a fantastic occasion descended into a terrible anticlimax. The Danes were a very professional outfit while our Cup Winning squad was splintering in all directions.

Denmark went onto be crowned European Champions the following year in Sweden, having actually failed to qualify. They got in when the Yugosalvs were expelled due to the Bosnian war atrocities.

Odense's star man was Lars Elstrup who had had a successful spell with Luton Town (then a yo-yo-ing First Division / Second Division team)

Bruce Rioch is Manager there and I think they had a good run in Europe last year. I went to the away match in '91 flew to Copenhagen and then a local flight to Odense.

Rioch went before the start of last season.

Flying into Copenhagen, train to Odense. Most Pats fans seem to be going for that or Ryanair to Bilund

Didn't Odense knock Shels out of the Inter-Toto last year? That's a tough draw I have to say.
