Not a bad game at all. I was very impressed with the Mons set-up. Tidy little ground and a dedicated bunch of people involved. Attendance was poor by any standard though.

Good win. We really should have won comfortably as we missed a lot of chances. still it is 3 points and it's come on Athlone and Kilkenny tonight.

The defence looked solid although caught a couple of times in the first half by balls over the top. Tommy Barrett had a great game in midfield. John Tierney and derek McCarthy played and linked up well although Tierney missed a sitter when ccleanthrough. Still that will come and he is still young. Derek tired and Padraig Moran and Robbie came on. Neither were as effective I thought but we still dominated through midfield. Nice to have a decent squad now.

Great result last nite boys, keep up the good work,Barett was awesome in the middle,he ran the show and was man of the match in my eyes, pity about some of the chances we missed,we"ll just have to wait for Colbert and kelleher to get back into the side and then we"ll see the goals fly in

Difference in the midfield is HUGE

    We can boss games now

Carthy looked very sharp upfront aswell, great movement

Robbie still has great touch but isn't fully fit.

Could have scored four or five on another night no problem

Attendance was 70, 12 of whom were from Limerick

I counted 70 at kick off but I bow to your more sober judgement

Agreed, movement was unreal. Best we have played so far. When the players gel fully & settle we will convert the chances. We could have won this one by 6.

PS: 6/5 was a terrible price on me!

Afraid not. Made plans for saturday a long time back that can't be changed. Shame first away game I'm going to miss since the opening game of the season.

Dont get me wrong lads, if you have an chance to go there do, nothing wrong with the place or its people (as im sure most of you know already) but the sightseeing trip of the midlands on the bus is not something id recommend.
Thanks to all in Monaghan for a enjoyable trip btw. (you deserve better from the non soccer following people up there)
