It's a rule in all grounds. Never enforced though.
Theres a new rule in lissywolen and its that if anyone is heard using abusive or foul language is to be removed directly from the stadium!I dont like it!Any some of the fans have held a silent protest!
I would like to know what you think about this "ban".....how would ur fans react?!! i doubt it would work i Dublin.....no negative criticism allowed at all!!Maybe if the manager did something decent we wouldnt have to critisice him! tell me what u think!
It's a rule in all grounds. Never enforced though.
That's a joke! When did this come about in Athlone?
Who Cares?!
Probably easier to enforce at grounds where there are low attendances.
Thats Paul Hegarty buggered then, he hasnt a hope unless he's already suspended.
Athlone fans travelling up on friday will see what i mean![]()
A ban on foul language is ridiculous. I can see where they're coming from with the abusive part as you don't want that getting too out of hand but if they try and stop people saying "For **** sake linesman" or stuff like that then it would daft.
Yeah its been enforced in Station Road recently. Its not too bad, like they dont mean you cant ever curse but try to cut down on it like, we are not allowed use chants with curses in them, but the odd "f**k sake ref" is acceptable!
Cmon County!
Does that mean a player or manager will be removed from the pitch for using bad langyage. What is the world coming to when you can't go to the football and shout abuse.
you silly billy ref, that old so and so took the legs from clean under him. He is nothing but a bold boy!
The referees a nuisance!
It'll catch on alright!![]()

on the plus side, you might have more people going to away games just so they can curse!![]()
I would have thought that the ability to be abusive and malcontent on the terraces was one of the things that football provided as a service to society - spleen vented before ever caused violence in an ordinary setting, a katharsis if you will. (For those of you who do not speak ancient Greek, the word you might recognise is "Catharsis")
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

I assure you, if I get thrown out of the Carlisle by my team, I won't be coming back. It's disgraceful the way certain fans (families) are getting preferential treatment while others (in our case the fans that sing and create the atmosphere) are getting tossed aside. If they keep it up, the Carlisle's going to be a graveyard.
I know I'm drivelling on but this is one subject that really annoys me.

If this is enforced I suspect I'll never see 90 minutes of a match.
Football is supposed to be a release ffs...... put all the kids and sensitive souls in one place out of harms way (like Cork and their family stand).
One of the great things about EL football is that it isn't the plastic, souless, alternative to going to the cinema that the Premiership has become. I'm very worried that the FAI, rather than trying to market the EL as real football, are going to try to implement the Premiership template lock, stock and barrel....
Katharsis isn't possible without kathexis, maybe there's not enough to get worked up about in Athlone.
If this is enforced, it's preposterous. They used to have a big NO FOUL LANGUAGE PLEASE! placard at Home Farm, which even the huddle of ancient flat-capped codgers in the corner of the stand used to flout.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
Its stupid the whole LOI will end up like that picnic in father fed
ah for **** sake thats a load ******** ****ing *******!!!Going by the last game I attended in Athlone (admittedly in Smels) they'd want to get rid of the ******* throwing stones/bottles at away fans and damaging their cars/slashing tyres and generally giving Town fans a bad name.
