The Goat is on the junction of Kilmacud road and Taney Road. Yeah go southbound towards Bray. It's exit 13 off the M50, which is signposted for Rathfarnham, Ballinteer and somewhere else.

Here's the link to where you would go off the M50.

Surely coming from Sligo you wouldn't on the M50 in the first place? You'd have to get on at Lucan (which is a pain in the hole at the moment). Just as quick going into town and taking the directions posted earlier

go up pearse road, turn left at the carraroe round-about, head straight to the retail park...turn left and go to the far left corner, and invest in a sat nav

That's a lot slower surely. Distance wise it seems just as long. Much handier being on the motorway going faster and avoiding traffic and one-way streets in town.

We could just offer a ballistic trajectory, but I'm not sure of the unladen airspeed of a Sligo fan.

Can I at this moment point out that I didn't think Leeson Street was one way?

Upper Leeson Street splits into two one-way sections, but is overall two-way, and I think Lower Leeson Street is two-way, though out of town may be a bus lane only.

Lower Leeson Street only has a bus lane out of town, yes. This rules it out for the purposes mentioned above.

Is the road around Merrion square one way? Or can you continue straight over onto Lower Mount street and onto Northumberland Road?

Merrion Square is two-way. You can go that way, it's the route Angus gave earlier.

    Two belters.

feo's advice is awful. Ballymun is miles away, and there isn't a direct bus route that I know of. If you have to get a bus, get one from town.

Hard to tell sometimes, when you consider the knowledge of Dublin of your average mucker.

Hell, I'm here 23 years, and even I can't tell my way around half the time.
