The whole world knows what Maddy McCann looks like. That poster at a Bohs game won't make any difference whatsoever.

Perfectly put. I fail to see what harm the banner has done. May I ask, if the banner appears at future Bohs game will the owners be requested to remove it?

If so, serious thumbs down to Bohs.

People bring banners with various messages to games as it means something to them personally. For all you know, the owner/s of the banner may have had a son/daugther or relation who went missing and this banner is there way of doing their bit for the cause.

But to be fair, you can't say that for sure.

Even if there is a 1 in a million chance, isnt it a chance worth taking?

As I said earlier, I agree that it has become a media circus, and many people are in this for their own benefit, but what harm can a banner at an eL game actually do?

    Zero in fact, i'd say.
2,000 at the match. Maybe another 10,000 watching TG4.
I'd be very surprised if 10 of those people found out just from that poster what the girl looks like. Of those 10, there's then maybe a one in million chance of one of those people having seen the child.
The poster is of no use.

City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

    My calculations above.
I think the figure i worked out there is 1 in 1,200,000,000.
For arguments sake, lets say zero.

Can you tell me what harm the poster is doing though. What does it bother you so much? Its a poster, get over it.

Cos the resort is probably noted for Irish and English tourists, mostly. This one was probably a mix but alot of irish probably go there.

It takes the heat off the McCann's shocking lack of responsible parenting and replacing this very real issue with people who buy into the McCann's cynical self-serving public manipulation. The Cult of Maddy is preventing the serious questions which need to be asked of the McCann from being asked.

This was a tragedy which could of easily avoided and nobody in the Irish and British media seems to want to point this out.

I want to point this out, because I think it's important.

Also it sets a ridiculous precedent. What if everyone who knows someone who went missing wants to put up banners with their face at Dalyer? The shopping centre end is not a milk carton.

I fully agree with all this, but having said that, I think we all would like her to be found, alive (even though it is highly unlikely), and any honest effort which may result in that shouldnt be condemned.

There seem to be two attitudes against the poster -

    1. It won't make any difference so why bother? (which is pretty defeatist)

    2. This kind of thing has no place at a football match. (which I think is pretty cold)

Yea there are questions to be asked but why now , what is more important finding the kid or finding who's to blame . Like in the south park beaver dam episode ( i get my moral guidance from south park ) where instead of rescuing the people trapped they wasted all there time finding out who was to blame .

It also teaches us jews carry a purse of jew gold around there neck

Jesus, as each day passes and I learn more about the EL it is so evident that Bohs really are the Everton FC or the EL. Whinge moan, negative ....... You probably blame Rovers (your main rivals????) for everything. (Are Rovers the most sucessful club in Ireland, by any chance??)

Its a banner, get over it. I think its more than worth it as there is a 1 billion - 1 chance that she may be found as a result which is better than nothing!

Would be no harm if banners were put up at your games, it might give them impression that you actually have a decent number of home fans!!!

try to keep it on track........this kind of post won't do anything to make people listen to you on the poster issue.

Your right actually. Still no decent reason from those who oppose the banner as to why it shouldnt be visible at a game? Cant see what harm its doing.

Is reder trying to blame Shamrock for Maddy going missing? Disgraceful if true.
