    Baaaaaaaaaaad Movies

OK , seeing as how the reccomended films thread has branched off in this direction, think it deserves a place of its own.

Smokin Aces - Awful, despite a very hot Alicia Keyes. Towards the end I was nearly praying for it to end, despite my Atheism!

Blair Witch Project - Worst film ever. Or at least most over-rated. Wanted to torture the person who reccomended it.

    Apollo 13 - Snoozefest, literally.

Phantom Menace - An insult to every Star Wars fan. Dissapointing, lazy, vacuous - much like Gareth Farrelly's tenure as Bohs "player"-"Manager"
TO TELL THE TRUTH IS REVOLUTIONARY

The ONLY foot.ie user with a type of logic named after them!

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.

Havent been to the cinema in ages but the most recent
ones I regretted going to see were:

    - The Persuit Of Happyness (Will Smith)
    - Fun with Dick & Jane (Jim Carey)
    - The Weather Man (Nicholas Cage)

    Older than that
    - National Treasure (Nicholas Cage)

The worst and most mind-numbing film I ever sat through (I can't even remember why, it was on TV one night) was an airplane-based drama called Turbulence, starring Ray Liotta (and that awful eejit Brendan Gleeson.) The first ten minutes were quite good, oddly enough. I was dragged to see The Da Vinci Code and that was almost as bad, albeit partially redeemed by a good opening sequence and a couple of half-decent performances.

The most recent I've seen I thought was pretty poor was...

    1. Borat ...thin on laughs ...I'm not a fan of the genre (of comedians who get their gags out of people who aren't in on it) anyway but that aside -smashing up a middle aged couples antique shop simply isn't funny ...even if they were paid/compensated in full for damages off camera. I'd roll my eyes if it was on jackass frankly.

Oh and the thing with Pamela Anderson was tiresome and the eventual meeting was entirely staged.

    2. Indecent Proposal was on telly the other night and was cringe inducing. The sub-home and away dialogue was matched only by the sub-neighbours morality play and was cudgelled home by Demi Moores attempt to immitate Laura Ingles from Little House On the Prairie on the voice-over.
I switched as soon as it became evident we weren't going to at least see her get a proper seeing to.

    3. Bad Boys (and I can safely assume Bad Boys II and any others in the genus ) -too stupid a film to even comment on.

    4. Every single movie Nicholas Cage has ever appeared in.

As mentioned in the other thread I fell asleep in the cinema watching the 5th/2nd Star Wars film and the second Pirates of the Carribean film.

Worst film I've seen in the cinema was Urban Legends 2

Only DVD I rented that I couldn't finish was Mike Bassett; England Manager

Have seen dozens of other terrible films and I'm sure I'll cpntribute tothis thread as they pop into my head.

Revolver - Guy Ritchies wanna be blockbuster featuring a badly miscast Ray Liotta.

The Courier-Awful Irish film about the life of a motor bike courier set in Dublin.
One of the worst films ever made imo.

Haha, The Courier. I remember when that was hailed as the saviour of the Irish film industry. We didn't know any better at the time. Never actually seen it, I seem to remember Don Baker being involved.

    I'm an easily pleased cinema-goer.
The only awful films I've seen are a pervy remake of Peter Pan and Vin Diesels XxX.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

O'Bama - "Eerah yeah, I'd say we can alright!"

    G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!

Magnolia is the worst film I have ever had the misfortune to pay money to see. I still read reviews raving how good it is. Truly awful.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls

    Magnolia? Natural Born Killers? seriously!?

The first few names that spring to mind are Domino (Keira Knightley at her acting low, and God know sthere has been many of those), Star Wars Episodes 1+2, Matrix 2+3, Pirates 2+3, and Mr.Nanny

Have you seen Adaptation? It is quality. I agree he isnt great, but was decent in this, in both roles.

I'll go for The Village as my choice.

Caught a bit of that Domino and yeah, it was rubbish. Tony Soctt directed it too so it should've been good.

    Liked Magnolia myself

Just think, in bizarro world we could have been great friends!

But seriously when has Keira ever acted well? I know she used to look good (too much weight loss on her part these days), but I can't think of a single film where she came close to even being a part of the show, let alone stealing it
