The FAI did nothing at the start so City would have been accused of inaction then. What other players came back from Britain?

This rule has always bothered me. What about the movement of people across borders within the EU and also the right of workers to work in any country within the union. Denying people the right to work seems to be in breach of all forms of human rights or are Cork paying the wages ( I know Colin Healy was signed on a pay as you play contract). If I want and am lucky enough to be able to work in three Financial Institutions in the one year, is there anything to stop me.

Court of Arbitration for Sport ruke against Cork City...

The court ruled against Cork and their appeal so Healy and Farelly are still not able to play until July but more importantly FIFA won't have to pick up their wage bill from when they signed but were not allowed to play.

Just a disgrace for UEFA, FIFA and the Court of Arbitration, one rule for the big powerful G14 clubs and another for the smaller "less significant" clubs!

There was one other, Derry signed some chap from the Irish League but it still stands that the same outcome would have occurred if we had gone with the FAI.
He was passed cos as micls correctly stated it was the loan deals that were the issue with our 2.

Disgraceful. FIFA are standing firm on it now that it suits them.

Cork should have brought Fifa to a real court because what Fifa are doing has to be illegal surely?

It was the PFA that took up this case, CCFC could not afford to take on FIFA.

Not a great decision. Thankfully from Corks point of view, July is only a couple of weeks away.

Looks like the lads are now in line to make their City EL debuts in Terryland on July 6th.

Hopefully they'll take a while to adjust!

Maybe so but as the deadline for the IT Cup was last night we'll miss them for that now aswell.

Should we go a round or 2, and have league games postponed we might not see the "FIFA 2" in action untill August.

League Cup QF against Bohs on 3rd July I think.

Debut match for the "Two" no doubt.

You're neglecting to factor in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
Should we progress to the 2nd round, our game against you will be postponed.

What makes you think City not go in with the FAI?

In the couple of press releases the FAI issued about the case they mentioned all ten players.

Anyway I doubt if the backing or otherwise of the FAI would have been decisive in the CAS decision.

Where did you hear that from?
AFAIK, they''re free to play from July 1st.
They're probably already registered for it.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

You can't register a player without full international clearance

Think the inter-toto deadlines are flexible enough though

Tonights Echo says that Rico has a game planned in Bishopstown for the 2 lads tomorrow night and also hopes they will play for the U21s in Lifford on Sunday with a view to lining them up for Bohs away next Tuesday.
    Can't come soon enough.
I'm sure the Bohs lads will give Gareth a great reception.
