We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"
It may look disappointing from the outside but our performances have been pretty good overall and we've just started to get the results before the break... Doh! We'll be safe after another few wins once the season resumes.

Limerickblue, r u Skee in disguise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
Presumably to allow the players take holidays. Don't really see the point
of it myself.
Fair enough to have a two week break for the group stages of the European Championships/World Cup, if Ireland qualify.
The reason vs the point !
The reason is to allow the players a week holiday.
I do not see the point in this. The season started 10/11 weeks ago.
Stu, I am paying tax to ensure that you can have an education.

The professional football season runs from March - November.
Footballers can take holidays in December and January.
A holiday is a holiday. Just because the weather is bad in Ireland, doesn't mean the same is true all over the world.
Are you attending University College Dublin Dublin, or did you break in to one
of the computer suites ?
They are professional footballers. Its their job.
People involved in the hotel trade and farmers don't take holidays during the summer.
Barmen and Santa Claus impersonaters don't take holidays during December.

Maybe some of them are doing the Leaving Cert....don't see the point of taking summer holidays either, sounds like something from the 60's...could have been a great weekend for LOI football with the weather that is predicted, might have got some 'fair-weathers' to games......
Ah, that good old "riposte".
I would wager I'm paying more in tax than you, so you can knock that one on the head, thank you.
The players asked for it, therefore the players evidently want to go on summer holidays. They're part time players, by and large, who also have families and regular jobs. Why begrudge them one week?
most european leagues have a mid season break why not the EL,regardless of the time of year?
utd fans just want to strike while the irons hot - cant blame us for that - anyway its not that long a break - and its the same for all teams - cup game friday week - not so long away
more water!
Sorry LimerickBlue, some posters forgot the original topic.
Yeah, it has been a disappointing season despite record high attendences and a recent good run highlighted by our win, last Friday, over the league leaders who sacrificed their unbeaten home record in the process. The Club have also sold out a forthcoming friendly against Sunderland which will net a six figure profit.
The big disappointment has, of course, been the blocked toilet in Terryland. It's full of sh1t. Sound familiar?
