    Online Lotto

Does the club have to pay to have this online? I'm gonna start doing it but will go down town and do it if Rovers don't make full profit from me doing it online...I'd imagine the website(locallotto.ie) must make a percentage from each person playing online, does anyone know?

the lotto folk are mostly not on the forum but its best to ask the webmaster maybe personally]who will tell you next week. just to note i saw a MC member in the fiddlers saturday night selling lotto tickets, its a job that goes by without being mentioned and its important. they get bad press so often so fair play for the hard work

Simple answer to this one is YES.
Commission is a fact of life.
The company host the lotto for various clubs round the country and in return charge a small percentage on ticket sales. The more ticket sales the more the company make. Now from what I'm told the on-line-lotto is not working for the Rovers. Mainly because it's not promoted by the club. It's crazy to think that the club employs a full time promotions officer and yet a fundraiser lacks promotion. Somewhere along the line the question will have to be asked what return the club gets for employing a full time promotions officer.

    Smile rovers lotto

i do this regularly and pay for maybe 10 draws up front (i know everybody cant afford to do this) but i definately think it is underutilised. it should be a big revenue earner for the club if properly promoted. what members should be doing here is tellling their friends and family about it. would the supporters trust be interested in promoting it by way of getting some colourful posters done up and displaying them in pubs rtc aroud the town . just a thought. but i fell this is certainly an underperformer. the club should be promoting this to ex pats around the world nad maybe if a person was to suscribe for 10 weeks give a discount. any further thoughts ? by the way im not technically proficent but i would imagine if naybody was sending e mails to friends etc an attachmnet for the lotto could be sent also . is this possible

I think Sligo and surrounding areas are generally hit enough for the lotto and every other fundraiser. The on line lotto is generally pointed at Sligo people living further afield. I think the email idea is a very good one. Just directing friends/family towards the Rovers website might just be enough. It has to be promoted to be successful. If properly promoted it could generate enough revenue to keep the likes of Adam Hughes at the Showgrounds. A couple of emails to the right inboxes would be a huge boost. This is not been done and hasn't to my knowledge been tried. It baffles me to think the club has a full time promotions officer and yet a simple thing like a few emails can't be sent. The ways and the means are there it's just the will to do it that's lacking. Surely when someone is employed to do a specific job it can't be too difficult to know when it's not been done and what I'm talking about here is a simple matter of promoting the on line lotto.

I do the lotto online. Have done so for about 15 months. I pay for a year at a time and get a few free weeks.

    Smile online ltto

since last preview i did a bit of reserch and there is indeed some very good deals for a years 6 months and 3 months suscription. if you pay e 92.00 for year you will get into 46 draws plus 6 free (full cost should be 52 xe2 = 104). this is in effect one lot of numbers to be drawn each week. of course you can do multiple lots each week. i told a few of my friends about this and already 2 more have suscribed for 1 year. both paid by credit card. however if anybody is interested they should talk to frank byrne (who does trojan work for sligo rovers) he is mr lotto and would only be to glad to supply information. i aim to keep telling people abut the lotto and will bring in more punters (doing my bit for the" bit o red) im not looking for any praise but i feel there are others out there who could do the same. i say it again this earner is under utilised and it is young guys like yee out there who are computer literate who could promote the club this way. what about giving a years suscription as a x mas gift or even 1/2 year. frank could do with help on this one and if we had 6 (mayebe more ) trying to entice people in it would be a great help.if you have ever being out on a weekend nite around sligo see the dedicated committee members selling lotto tickets (great workers giving of their time) but you can only sell so many books. the potentila for on line is huge. most work places have computers today so any one could gather a few mates and pool money togeather and then get 1 person with a credit card and let him do it onlline for the benefit of all. vey simple nad very helpfull

apart from the facility to do the lotto on line (which has the advantage of using credit card) there is also the lotto pluscard which offers a fantastic deal .you can have 2 selections of 4 numbers each for e100 euro for the year. in effext in every draw held weekly you are getting 2 chances to win. again this can be done as a once off payment of e100 or a direct debit can be set up to pay e 10 per month. you simply fill in the card and return it to frank beirne. this is once again another way to help the club but we need people to do it frank beirne cant do it on his own. once again today i have got 5 more people to do lotto on line for 1 year. come on lads its time to come on board. we can talk about it here alnight but action speaks louder than words. no disrespect to anybody but with a little bit of effort this could be a real money spinner for the club. all genuine candidates contact frank beirne 086 1657515 . we could really get this going and it could mean the difference between cookie leaving and staying. i will monitor the rresponse
    closley. regards
