    Pat's 500 club...

St. Pat's are now considering the possibility of a 500 club trust to bankroll devolpment in Richmond...

    ...originally by Macy
eg even if we got 150 people to contribute a fiver a week to a supporters trust only (i.e. no season ticket or additional benefits), that would raise EUR39,000 per annum. I don't think it would be unrealistic to hope for 250-300, which would be EUR65-78k per year, or EUR325-390k over 5 years. Lets be honest, a fiver these days is barely a pint in Dublin and not even a pack of smokes.....
I think Longford Town need this sort of commitment from Fan's to avoid falling behind & to help with capital devolpments within the club....

How many fans would contribute to this??

It's an open poll and applies to any fans and their particular club...originally by Macy

Eh, any chance of the credit for that excellent peice of writing you quoted Xlex

I'd add that I would say that the money should be used for capital projects only... e.g. Bar; Press Facilities; Covered Camera Position; Roofs for the ground; astro pitches etc

Also my vision of it would be that the members of the supporters trust elect a committee to look after the cheque book - the supporters would run it, so as to control the money and ensure that it wasn't wasted on day to day expenditure...

I'm keeping an eye on the Rovers forum to see how they are getting on - a few of them are investigating getting the 271 club set up as some kind of supporters trust (and involving getting shares which I don't think is an issue with us being a members club (but I'm open to correction) )

Infairness, you developed the Dwogs idea and approached the club, but they weren't having it, so IMO if they can't be @rsed and supporters organise it and pay into it, the supporters should have control of it.....

Your idea + development and figures from me + further additions and ideas from you + practicalities from me = a plan

...that's not a plan... it a great plan...

We'd have to have a member on the commitee tho... because i couldn't do that with the same boards there... and i'd want a bar over at section O....

Pats are not really doing it that way. I think they're trying to get 500 people to buy a 5 year season ticket...
