Great news ,crowd mighn't be a big turn out though?
We home or away?
Hopefully the FAI Cup will be enough to bring a bigger crowd to Jackman.![]()
Don't understand why we want a big premier team at home in this round. There's plenty of time for that. I'd prefer a home draw and a better than good chance of progressing. A cup run is always better than a one-off payday. Also, we should be thinking about winning this competition - not trying to make a few bob.![]()

good point, i think we'll be well able to handle wexford youths. I'd much prefer a good run in the FAI to gettin a big pay day but being knocked out by a premier team in the first round. The only way the club will progress and start gettin a larger following is through success on the field
L37 are 33/1 to win the FAI cup and only 9/2 to win the league. With the extra players in July you never know your luck.![]()
The thing about the Cup is that with a bit of luck we could really go quite a way in the competition. There will be at least 2 non-league teams in the next round and if we got another home draw against one of them, then a victory would put us in the last 8 so you never know. I expect Wexford will be better than they were Tuesday night when they visit again but we should still beat them.

There's always Limerick 37!
Why not?
In a cup a team can always get favourable draws to progress really far. A win over Wexford and a good draw in the next round means last 8. Then you want to get the big gubs - when something is at stake - though I would gladly play first division and non-league teams all the way to the final.
In any event - if our ambitions are limited our achievements will be limited.

It's been confirmed that the Cup match with Wexford will be played on Friday, June 15th with a 7.45pm k.o. Referee will be D. Deady. The replay (if required, hopefully not!) will be on Tuesday 19th at the Wexford Youths Complex, k.o. 8pm.

I agree the only reason we would want a home draw against a big team is to draw in the crowd to make more money for the club, but obviously the only reason the club wants money is to develop the club but what more could be more benifitial (both financially and on the pitch) to the club than going far in the Fai cup!!
