Brian McDonald!
I knew I missed a player from the injured list in the Finn Harps report
Sorry Barney!
Monaghan United face into tonights challenge at Oriel Park with a long list of players missing. Thomas Heffernan and Kevin Williamson are both suspended and Khalid Hussain & Ciaran Friel are unavailable.
Mons injury list hasn't shortened with Brian McDonald (ankle), Stephen Finnegan (knee), Mickey Kerr (knee) and Mark O'Connor (eye socket) all still out of action. Peter D'arcy is doubtful due to his groin injury but may be called upon due to the shortage.
Former Monaghan United players Trevor Vaughan (ankle) and Paul Smyth will sit out the game tonight as will Ben Whelahan (calf). John Gill's side will also be without Keith Dunne who is suspended and they may also be missing David Cawley.

Shame on you, I would never forget to include someone in a report....![]()
So much for Smyth and Crawley missing out... Aertel said Crawley would be out too. Where do they get this information?
Smyth shouldnt have played but our Manager allowed Gill to play him at last minute. Disgraceful.
Crawley must have been a doubt. If you note above I said he "may" be missing. I will never reveal my sources!!!!!
At least we gave you a game and if we had been given the clear penalty it may have been another draw for you against us. Was broken hearted with the result but happy that we didnt make it as "Easy" as you thought it would be!
If, could, should...if we had been given the penalty (the tackle was good, but there was a clear pull) we would have been 2-1 down and Dundalk still would have won.
We're going nowhere until the manager goes, and takes Burke, Mooney, Doyle and Feeney (unless he gets himself fit because he's a decent player if he was fit) with him. I'm fed up with the acceptance of standards below mediocre at the club.
Yes, we have low budget, but you don't need a budget to get players fit, have them properly coached so they know what they should be doing and have them motivated.

Even the Ref's assessor said it was a penalty. That would have changed the game.
I cant see how you can want to get rid of Mooney or Burke they have been 2 of our best players in Limerick (Burke coz Mooney was out), Wexford & Kilkenny. Only for them we would have lost a lot more. I agree that Doyle has been a bit of a dud but I think now that he has finally scored he may start to put that right. He certainly worked his ass off last nite.
Feeney is a waste of space in most games and has only started to look anything like the player he was.
Hopefully the fitness thing will be sorted out now that they are training together mid week in Drogheda with Thomas Heffernan putting them through their paces.
On the Manager thing, you know I wont and cant comment on things like that.
It would not have chnaged the game. Dundalk were easily the better side.
Barry Burke is terrible. His positional sense is awful, non-existent. He has no pace, yet still goes all over the pitch, leaving a big hole in the middle at the back.

I agree he is a bit all over the place, and has caused some problems of him going for the same ball as another player but I think it is a case that he doesnt fully trust the others to cover it and feels he has to do the job. I agree he needs to start playing where he belongs but as captain I think he takes it all on his own shoulders.
Dundalk were better but not as far ahead of the possie as they think. I felt we put it up to them & having seen the lads coming back from behind so often this season (which if you recall never used to happen) I do think that if they had gotten the penalty they may have raised the game more & Doyle would have gotten the 2nd goal.
