lads im glad to see talk of these Ucc guys. the lad Rose who plays up front is a class act and destroyed teams in the early rounds of the Collingwood, Sign him up pronto Dolan. Bruton imo is nowhere near good enough but david Spratt who played for the last few years for college is a very good midfielder and worth a look at.

Might be worth a trip to the Dyke @ 4pm on Saturday
    UCC vs College Corinthians,
Dolan could do a lot worse than attend and see what talent is on show.
Corinthians are walking away with the MSL, some tasty players also.

Brendan O'Connell is a class act, his distribution is excellent even managed a shot on target in the collingwood cup final!!!! IMO U.C.C.'s best players are Weldon, Rose, Wanchope(Hennessy) and Bruton. However Bruton is 24,getting on a bit, however he's very good friends with Mucky and Hoggie. When Mucky joined City there wasa specualtion around college that Weldon was asked to sign, and he said he'd rather stay with college coz he'd only rot on the bench much like Mucky now, remember at the time city had O'Rourke and he wasn't getting much of a look, so a fella from the M.S.L. was hardly going to get a look. Wanchope too is knocking on a bit 23 in the summer, that brings me on to the real jem Paul Rose, what a player only 20 years old max. Blistering pace and a wise head on him, however would he displace Nolan or Behan, both younger?????? Remains to be seen

Why .... what is the story with him ?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Well if the Oracle of Academy Street( Examiner. Echo...Echo....Echo... ) are to be believed, Dolan will be looking for locally born talent only at first. There are probably enough Cork lads going nowhere with British clubs to make up a whole team, and decent terms should be enough to get a few of them back here.

Spotted Pat Dolan at the dyke on Saturday, for the first half he just stood up at the ucc end, definately watching Brendan O'Connell!!!!! Overall he had a great game making several great saves to keep U.C.C. in the game, however had a 1 in a million error, lost a greasy freekick. trickled under his body and has he tried to readjust himslef his trailing leg flicked it into the net, but othe rthen that was excellent, Rose, Weldon and Bruton all played to their usual high standards but Spratt was fantastic, incredidle power in his frees scored one, and just a couple of inches high with a 35 yard effort,

Heard today that Chris McGrath son of legend Paul, will more than likely be let go from Liverpool Academy at the end of the season. He's supposedly a very pacey central defender. Maybe worth a shot taking him on. He's is only 18.

Also heard today that Chris Byrne and Brian Shelley may be transfer listed from Carlisle after going out after the 5-1 mauling they received from Hull at the weeked. You would think that Byrne would have learned his lesson after the bouncer incident with John Terry and Jody Morris.

Shelley is crap. He couldn't get his game with Bohs or Longford. That's why he had to settle for Carlisle.

    Des Byrne? Naa.

Des Byrne..my bad...where did i get chris from?? ....must have had it stuck in my head with Pauls son...

Bryne by all accounts is a handy player.....just needs to sort himself out off the pitch...he's still only a young fella though...

we could do worse publicity wise....

    Maradona junior eyes Britain

Diego Maradona has never recognised Diego Junior
Diego Maradona's son could be set for a shock move to Scottish First Division club Clyde.
Diego Junior, who is only 16, is currently with Italian Serie B outfit Napoli, where his father became a legend in the late 80s and early 90s.

Clyde boss Alan Kernaghan told The Sun newspaper: "I took a phone call out of the blue last week from a TV company acting on behalf of Napoli about the possibility of Diego Maradona's son coming to Clyde.

"At the moment, he's too young to play for the first team there and they want to put him out on loan next season.

There would certainly be a lot of good publicity generated from him coming to Clyde but I wouldn't just sign him for that

    Clyde boss Alan Kernaghan

"They said they can't really put him on loan to another Italian club because there would be too much pressure on him with the media there.

"I haven't really had the chance to look into it because we're fighting for promotion, but it is definitely something we will check out in the summer.

Maradona has never recognised the child, but the Italian courts confirmed that the boy was his son after DNA tests were carried out in 1993.

This might not be a very popular choice, but, to put a more experienced player next to O'Flynn, I'd like to see Dolan sign Glen Ferguson from Linfield. The man is an absolute goalscoring machine.

read an article yesterday about the now cancelled irish u-20 world cup squad. A lot of these players are out of contract at the end of the season and are unlikely to be offered another. And a few will be in the same boat next year.
It might be a good idea for dolan to check a few of these players out. We could unearth a couple of really decent players.

Dolan signed Hawkins, Molloy and Morgan from the last U20 squad so maybe he's thinking along the same lines this time rond
