Wexford are as poor a team as I've ever seen in the LOI lads but in fairness you can only beat what's put infront of you so fairplay.

Good crowd aswell for a Tuesday, easy know the "continental" season is over

    BRING ON THE HARPS!anyone going
Myself and about six others are travelling anyway

Nice bit of coverage in the leader today on the match.

Did any support from Wexford show up? Anyone impress on the Wexford side of things? They really need to take something from the next game against Kildare or there's a real danger of not getting another win all season.
Fairly even match up until our first goal, though in fairness you had a lot of lads missing so i wouldnt critacise them too much if i were Wexford fan (not saying that you are) unsure of the number of Wexford fans, anyone?

    Fairly even??

They had eleven behind the ball at all times until we got our first goal

Nothing to do with lads missing (Wexford have 1000s of players, everyone of them a nobody), that's more to do with crap coaching and a crap attitude

At least when we were crap we had a go and lost with a bit of dignity (Usually)

Thanks for trying to be nice anyway. The struggle we all expected has really started now for the Wexford lads (still not bottom yet though, so we hold out hope). With any luck I'm going to the game Saturday away to Kildare (will be my third Wexford Youths match, generally rely on my Dad for progress reports, he's been to all the home games, he reckons they need to learn to push more men forward, negative coaching maybe?), points are badly needed to boost the confidence again.

I'd say at least 5 or 6 of the players have shown they are easily up to this standard of football, unfortunately a lot of the others are struggling. It's very early days for the club yet and I'd be very surprised if we were still the worst in the league in three years time.

It's a pressure game down here

I'm astonished at how much time you give the opposition on the ball. Seem to sit back in two banks of five when without the ball and challenge teams to break you down.

In theory a good strategy. BUT, you need quality defenders to pull it off and your boys don't cut the mustard. Somebodies always bound to fcuk up eventually playing like that with poor quality players

It's tactical ineptitude and you'd expect even O'Connor and Dolan would know better at this stage

Can't disagree at the moment, it's pretty much the same report from every game. I believe they tried 4-4-2 from the start against Athlone but played a defensive midfielder and a defender up front. A lot of players are getting runs in different positions at the moment, which might not be a bad thing in the long run, but, in the short term things are starting to get very frustrating for the 5 or 6 hundred loyal supporters at every home game.

The attitude has generally been very good from the players but they looked very tired when I saw them at home to Kilkenny. According to one of the players Dad, they're training for 3 hours a night 4 nights a week (and trying to hold down full time jobs) sounds like over kill to me. Maybe asking too much for too little reward at this stage in the development of the club.

what game were you watching, monkfish was spot on.wexford played some good stuff, just very inexperienced and obviously very young..could not handle us at setpieces thats what won us the game.we played poorly..once again our defence were brilliant...midfield on its just honest effort but we didnt create anything, its a all about results so fairplay to skee his,...ball in the hole...game is bearing fruit.are you seriously questioning dolans and o conners tactical ability, better give wallace a call he could use a genius like you.

I think you're being a bit harsh on us Lim Till I Die.

It's been said a million times at this stage but our lads need some time to adapt to LOI football. Most of them have been playing on crap teams in a bad Wexford junior league up until this season. They're now playing on a slightly better team in a very mediocre league. If we stay off the bottom this season I'll be happy enough, as will Mick & Co.

There's that Italian connection shining through again

Sorry man, genuinely don't mean to be harsh, I'd just be questioning the way you play if I was a Wexford fan is all. If nothing else it's not very entertaining to watch

Save the Cattenachio tactics for when you're in Europe
